Camaro SS manual shipment (not production) hold officially confirmed by GM (UPDATED) - Page 39 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

My question is I did a search online about this topic and the only thing I find are other forum sites quoting what has been said on here. Why has GM not made an official notification to their dealers and on their website? Why is there only this fan site with this information? My own dealer is dumb shocked and GM has no where posted by them themselves with their logo and official write-up. I would think when you stop shipment of all manual SS Camaro's you would make it a little more public then telling one fan site Camaro5. But hey I could be wrong. Yes, I have read every post on this thread, a little obessed maybe but this Camaro is not my toy car, its a daily driver and I am getting tired having to drive and pick up my husband everyday from work. I need to figure out if this car will not make a mid-august delivery because when I go back to work were screwed! Heee hee there's my little rant session.

It seems like everyone is getting pushed at the most 2 weeks to the right. So At the most a 2 week wait, if yours gets built earlier you're lucky.

But that's just going off of the guys on this site saying their TPW has switched.

They are telling anyone that asks. This kind of stuff happens all the time. It's just that normally noone cares. It's not something they would normally issue a press release or anything about. It's not like this is a plant closing or something.

It was posted last night, and I confirmed it.

The constraint affects orders to be submitted, with a Target Production Period : 08/10/2009 - 08/16/2009

My guess is Tremec provided Batch information to GM for the transmissions that are affected. So GM will inspect every car in QC looking for Trans that fall into that batch number. From there they will take the necessary steps to correct the problem.. My guess.

Like I said above. It appears to be a bad batch, as if part of the transmission production process proke down leading to porr trannys reaching GM... As such we are where we are.

We don't really have an answer for this... It appears that there are multiple factors that drive when a car is actaully shipped out side of QC hold. The biggest of which is allocation at the dealer...

Production is not delayed. Shipment is delayed. The are producing SS M6's at the same rate the did before. But they will be delayed getting to the customer, that is true.

Probably not enough of a sample to say this is true. and TPW aren't totally accurate even without a QC event... Like I said above Cars will continue to be produced so the TPW shouldn't change much. Only the shipment date.

Sigh my husband had to have the manual but if he had listened to me and ordered the automatic like I wanted for the car it be getting ready to ship. Why don't men listen to woman were always right (getting ready to dodge)

Just kidding the wait will be worth the extra horsepower.

sry guys i dont mean to be a ball buster but i drive for a living and im stopping home every chance i get to check for an update...its frustrating not knowing whats going on with your car that you thought was coming a week ago...i was told it was in transit and giving a eta fo the 10th...then on tuesday i think it was i found out my car never shipped...ill be alright once this update is available so ill atleast know a time frame...the area 51 mess has got me worried as hell though...i just hope its nothing like that

Hey, it could be worse. You could have to wait for the M6 issue to be worked out AND have to go to the dentist in 2 hours like me!

Dentists ARE satan's spans in disguise!
