Hi guys, sorry to hear about your motor woes...that sucks. Don't lose heart. At least we dont have the sparkplugs jumping out of the heads like the ford people do.

Well i am looking for a cam. I am looking at veangence, lethal, tsp. I hear a lot about nightfury. what I am wondering about is whether I should have someone custom spec a cam for me. my driving habits are: 10k miles in 2.5 years. weekend or pleasure driving only. already have headers and CAI. i never drive below 2000 rpm. use 4th or 5th on hiway, never 6th. I want a rough idle, I also like to wind up the gears in a lazy fashion(when putting around in town), because I like the exhaust note. well anyway, what are your thoughts?

Thanks

You don't have any crazy requirements. That being said, why not spec one? You'll learn what you should know by filling out pat g's questionaire. I'd say jump through the hoops and get your cam spec and you'll be that much happier in the long run knowing it was designed to your wants and desires. I think it's $40 or something for a cam spec.

We don't need pics of you hugging your monkey. At least you're not spanking it.

Was thinking about the CT pads. Just the fronts. My rears should be fine. Not sure which ones i'd need. I'm not road racing, just want something better than stock, doesn't dust to high heaven, and won't squeal like Zeke at a K&N convention. Thought you said you might have a hook up on the CT's as well.

I can counter the bad juju. I cut my last filter open after months of loud squeaking. I learned 2 things.

1) ac delco filters are built like a tank.
2) there is no metal in my engine, which means it has to be throttle body or headers. Or some weird air flow that squeaks sometimes... Who knows.

I had a squeak a while back at idle that I just knew was a lifter eating a cam. Started looking around with the car off and found my blower pulley was a hair out of torque. tightened it down, squeak gone. lol
