Knock on wood, haven't had any problems other than 20% of the paint has chipped off the sides already. That's quite frustrating. It just turned 5000 miles and has mud flaps on the front to help. Can't imagine what this car will look like in a couple years

Does the warranty cover paint after the past 3 year/36,000 warranty? I don't think it does, unless you have the extended warranty. Am I correct here? |

My AGM ZL1 is going back in for MORE paint work. I went to put ZL1 decals on underside of hood...and the paint is so thin I can see the white primer underneath !!!!!!

I didn't read all the posts. Did anyone point out that this is a car with a base price under $30k and then add on all the ZL1 stuff to that base car. For example, the don't make the doors any different on the Zl1 than the cheapest camaro you can buy. You pay $60k for the SC, mag ride, etc. You should know that when buying the car.

I prefer to think of it as the LT and SS owners got a $60k car with budget friendly parts. ![]() In all reality, most of these issues are minor when you look at the technology that went into this car. A few blemishes and rattles, but the "go parts" are solid. I for one bought the car for the performance per dollar ratio.

I have a few paint imperfections in mine. And my O2 sensor just went last week. 2600 miles on it.

![]() At the end of the day...it doesn't matter how much you pay - cars can be boiled down to thousands of moving parts all connected together to move you around at varying speeds. If you find one that's never had a single issue ever at all......you're a very very lucky person. ![]() I've accepted the fact that no car will ever be "perfect"...so I try to rate the quality of a car on the degree of the issue...and how the dealer/company responds if it needs to be fixed. ...But so far on this one. Haven't had to worry about it! |

I thought that I was the most anal person ever when it came to my Camaros.
Having been on C5 for some time, I have to say that the member who waxes the underside of his ZL1 while waiting for the oil to drain while doing his own fluid change trumps me....but, now that I've learned about it, I'm going to do the same thing. My car is perfect. Everywhere. Paint, panel fit, mechanicals, interior, engine and compartment...everywhere. And it's black... I'm sharing only to express my thanks to GM, the Oshawa Camaro Build Team, and all of the Engineering and Development people that made it possible for me to own this car. It's the last muscle car that I'll ever buy (I'm getting old), and by far the very best. |

If nice paint and finish is demanded, might as well spend another 40000 dollars and get the BMW M3.
But the fun you get with the ZL1 is priceless no matter what imperfection exists. My ZL1 has many flaws but it doesnt bother me anymore, especially when i think about the problems i had with my previous camaros. |

So $62,000 shouldn't get you nice paint and finish? I've had BMW's and they do have nice paint finishes, I've also had $20,000 car's that didn't have paint pepper off the front and sides of the car at an alarming rate. This isn't a matter of a super anal owner bugging out because there is a paint chip somewhere on his car, this is epidemic paint chips that you can add to nearly every time the car is driven. I'm not bashing the car, I love the car, would buy it again in a heartbeat. But this is a serious paint problem not a few people that are nit-picky
