Just to say something about the dealers. Not all of them are the same. Just got notified by my dealer that my exhaust arrived. Then my saleman says "BTW, they are shipping the cars again but not sure if they will want to bring your car in to take a look just as a precaution. Just give it a few days and take it easy on the tranny and the Launch Control and either service or he would give me a call with an update". This is the type of service I have received since the day I ordered. Makes me glad I am a GM customer.

My wife and I had already decided to order Automatic next year, and we were not affected by this issue. In fact, it made us more proud of GM and Oshawa handling it the way they did, and that's the way business should be done - don't send out junk when you know it's junk. Address the issue from the supplier and move on before really bad things happen. Who knows what transmission trouble could lead to as well?

We should all learn from the Ford and Firestone debacle in 2000-2001: search for "Tire Trouble: The Ford-Firestone Blowout"

One word of caution - many think "Bayed" means it's held up.

Not so -- Bayed usually means that it's awaiting transportation.

What form of testing did they do to determine what cars were affected and which were not? Which leads me to the major question for those that have cars within the VIN range of this problem surfacing like mine, what test will be done to determine if mine and others are affected. Thanks..

As I recall (pardon the pun), they were pretty quick about letting existing owners know about the battery cable issue.
They were quicker letting us know about that than the current problem which is more serious. However I am not concerned about the speed of this as GM has responded fast enough in my opinion. It is what GM is going to do about cars built a few weeks ago and have just arrived at dealers that could be affected if they were built close to the same times as the affected ones. I like GM and Fbod are glad the issue doesn't affect all manual SS's. That means there is a 50/50 chance mine isn't affected being built so close to the ones affected.. I am picking up the car tomorrow and driving it for the first time and yet there is still no information as to how they tested the cars in QC to see if they were affected before letting them ship.. You would think GM should let the dealerships know what they did so they can test the cars in stock and coming in built close to the affected VIN range.. The only reason GM would keep the issue quiet is if the testing procedure for the cars is something "they" can do and the dealers don't have the equipment necessary.. Or they are dumping the clutch at 6000 rpms as the main test...lol.. At least let the dealers know how to test the vehicle as that would alleviate any stress from having to drive the car cross country with that unknown. (which by the way could potentially be very dangerous if it occurs when you are pulling in front of traffic...)

This was just gone over earlier today, I think by Hylton. Constraint changes only happen every Thursday, so if it was on the constraint list for yesterday it will be until next Thursday.

Scott has stated several times if you don't drop the clutch at high RPM or other similar high stress situations you should be fine. Once better information is available they will provide it to us.

You planning on doing a big smoky burnout out of the dealership when you pick it up? You don't need to baby it, just take it easy, don't hammer on it, it will be good break in procedure anyway

I agree with you 100%. I am still waiting also (4D), but I know it will be worth the wait.

You don't understand, I know that if I baby it, the issue will never happen. However that doesn't mean it isn't there and that it needs to be fixed.. All I am asking is a reassurance mine does not have that problem and obviously if GM's QC team has already figured out which ones are affected and which ones are not at the QC portion of the plant because they let some thru and kept others....Then our dealers should know or learn how to do the same testing procedure for Camaro's like mine built during the same timeframe..
