Best bang for the buck (especially if you have an LS3 car as it'll add a solid 60+ rwhp), cold air intake, complete exhaust (headers and catback) and a thorough dyno tune.

Define "not that important". Will it add HP, yes but not much at all (don't get it for that reason). More importantly it fixes the deadspot on these cars and really helps increase trottle response.

A PT is a must have IMO.

^^^ This. Even on my 4th gen F-bod, a ported throttle body (yes it had a throttle cable) was a very early on mod.

1. Complete detail (wash, wax, sealant and pinetree airfreshner)
2. Good set of tires ( if needed)
3. Replace all fluids ( only if you bought a used camaro)

You can never go wrong with doing the basic (common sense) stuff.

I don't think catch can needs to be on that list? I'd say throttle body just for the throttle response though. Ill add a catch can with FI!

It's okay to mix in "must have" with "nice to have" when we're talking relatively low cost mods, don't ya think?

is this just for engine mods? if not mine would be:

1) Intake - better sound and performance
2) Cat Back - better sound
3) Lowering springs - better performance and looks

remember were talking "first mods" here. not many people wanna throw on a set of long tubes as soon as they buy the thing. also, lets be honest...the car sounds pretty weak with the stock cat back...so an aftermarket unit helps ALOT! even if its just sound for (and the butt dyno).

1) Intake
2) Exhaust
3) Headers & Tune (or range device if the warranty matters)

I am gonna feel like that is the way to go as these were my first three mods

Does the L99 and LS3 need a catch can as bad and as much as the LLT does? I had one on my LLT and saved it to use on my L99, but haven't installed it yet. Is the 1LE oil separator enough for the SS?

The catch can and separator are 2 different things, one is for the clear side, the other the dirty. People say that for the L99 & LS3 a CC is not as important as it is for the LLT engines. But I can tell you my elite can has done it's job and stopped a bunch of blowby. So for the little cost to buy/install its worth it IMO.

It is not as critical as it in on the direct injection V6s but it is still very important. The 1LE separator is a "clean side" system where as the catch can is for the "dirty side". The catch can address about 95% of oil blowby and the separator deals with that remaining part. Both is the optimal solution.

This I know, but wasn't sure if needed either of them or not. The CC is for dirty side and separator is for clean side, correct? I guess I shall install it this weekend then while I am installing my technostalgia tail lights and plasti dipping my tail light bezels.
