My Hhr's battery is in the rear of the vehicle
in the spare tire aswell ~

In alittle over 2 years with the Hhr I have seen the battery once.

You can adjust the parking brake by moving in reverse and tugging it up a few times.

Battery in the back is becoming more common. There are posts under the hood for a jump.

Right side fuel door so you don't bang your driver's door into the pump.
Fuel entry has a spring inside so it's nearly impossible to siphon gas.

Rear seat back has a latch you need to pull from the passenger compartment to fold forward.Glove box has a lock but no light.

If you have a 2LT or 2SS with the gauges you don't have a place for your phone.

Sucker stands out so much the LEOs follow you.
Use the cruise control right at the limit.
It pisses them off.

GM only puts the battery in the trunk to improve weight distribution or in some cases because it won't fit under the hood.

Onstar actually has it's own small backup batter located next to the Onstar module. This is usually under the rear package shelf which is a well protected area.

The Corvette has had the battery in the trunk since 1963... even before it had a trunk.

It's all about weight distribution. The other benefits are happy coincidences.

You should still be able to have your tires rotated side to side.

EDIT: My bad, I didn't know the 1LE tires were directional. The non-1LE SS tires can go side to side.

Kind of off-topic, but actually JFTR 1st generation Corvettes "before" 1963 were the only ones with conventional trunks. Regardless, every generation Corvette EXCEPT the 3rd gen ('68-'82) has had the battery in the front on passenger or drivers side between the front wheel and firewall. The 3rd gen's was in a floor compartment behind the drivers seat.
EDIT: The C7's is thought to be rear mounted.

The trunk release didn't phase me to much.
I have wondered the same thing about the e-brake being on the passenger side!
I drove to the wrong side of the gas pump twice before I got used to it(yes I now know my car has an arrow pointing to the correct side, don't judge me)
One thing that cracked me up to is that our trunks have a anti kidnapped mechanism on the inside that you can pull and it will release the trunk from the inside. It has a man getting up and running out picture on it haha!

Correct. The rear wheels are 11" wide and front are 10" for the 1LE. There's a guy in my area with a '13 1LE and he went to sams club to get new tires and they put the rear on the front and couldn't get the car to move! The bad thing? I later found out it was some kid I went to high school with who put them on wrong!
