That's why I bought the Borla's for my vette vs the GM system. Plus I paid less with a GP from a Corvette Forum vendor too.

I'm told GM products still have to meet the sound pressure db limits imposed by various states etc. While aftermarket systems do not.

Sounds nice, SS_in_Black, but a muffler delete on the L99 is far cheaper, a little louder and no popping either. Enjoy!

any chance of a video of a take off and drive by, and maybe a rev video from outside instead of being in a smaller space like that?
Hmm thats strange when you go to the GM performance catalog shows the off road for both ls3/l99.

What GM part# did you order for that exhaust again?

I’m a little confused. I thought the GMPP exhaust upgrade was a Cat back not an Axle back. This is the only option offered by GM, right (just a choice with tip or no tip)?

Gm only offers an axle back system as far as I know.

Here's another pic of the tips...

I emailed GMPP customer service and asked them about the GMPP "off road" axle back, and they said it wasn't specific to the LS3 or L99. Which makes sense because all the other axle backs (Borla, SLP, etc) fit both the LS3s and L99s Camaros.

The part number for the "off road" version is # 92231570.

Does the performance exhaust actually improve performance? I do see that it sounds nice!

An axle back exhaust = very little HP (maybe 3-5 hp if you're lucky).
A catback exhaust = 10 - 15 hp or so.
Long tube headers and high flow cats = 40 hp with tuning.

So it all depends on how much of the exhaust you replace. But just replacing the mufflers (axle back) doesn't do much. Its mostly for looks and sound.
