I agree. We have the 90 degree elbows in the same finish but I like the way that looks with the black fitting.

Finnally installed mine last night, I had to flip the Bracket 180 degrees because the originnal position put it right where the intercooler tank is, Now I need them to get me some Braided Hose....

Tried to install it tonight but the radiator support bolt isn't long enough. The bracket is a thicker plastic unlike the metal one shown in the instructions and the bolt isn't threaded the entire length (both sides are the same way). When I put it in the threads are just barely starting to grip, but lets go as soon as I try to tighten it. Didn't even get to check the hose connections, because there's no use putting those on if the can isn't supported.

I guess I need to run off to the parts store to find a longer bolt tomorrow...

Apex Motorsports Catch Can - LS3 Install and First Impressions

Mine was like that Damien.
I abandoned that location for mounting.
Felt it would always be a bit wobbly and maybe thread itself in the end :-(
For my V6 I got a different bracket from the CatchCan manufacturer and mounted it on the passenger side engine cover post.
There are other ways and brackets for mounting.
But I'm not a V8 chap so have no ref personally.
Anyways, I suggest a different location :-)

I was trying to at least get the can put into the engine bay last night (not necessarily fully hooked up) in a short window I had between dinner and getting the kids to bed. Once I realized that wasn't going to happen I scrapped the project for the evening. It was probably my only opportunity to get it done before next week. :(

For the record: Here's a link to the photos I took detailing my issue:

Thanks for the info you forwarded to me Dexman. We are going to compare it to the 2010 we have here and see what is up. We have not come across this yet so I suspect this may be one of those mid model year changes GM likes to make. We will probably start including a longer replacement bolt on the Camaro just to make sure everyone is covered.

Apex... Any chance that you will add any differant ways to mount your can? A choice of mounting brackets would be nice. I am wanting to get a showstopper radiator cover, but it uses the same mounting bolt that your catch can does.

I pointed this out (To Chase) in the begining when I seen the bracket and mounting location. There were quite a few people that had their bolt strip for this reason (using a different brand can but same style bracket and mounting location), mind did and I had a 2011. This is the only reason I would not buy the Apex can, I wish it had a different mounting location.

We do not have plans to but nothing is out of the question.

Starting with the run that is currently in production we will be offering a stronger and slightly longer replacement bolt to allay any concerns.
