Time on lot

My Hot Wheels Edition was on the dealer lot and in the showroom for 4 months, the fact that the dealer had a $10,000.00 dealer added markup could have had something to do with it. I was at the dealership to order my new Corvette . I was interested in the car and told the dealer when he took the markup away to give me a call. He finally did and I bought the car with a $2500.00 discount and a dealer special weekend discount of $1500.00. Sometimes it pays to be patient. Saved $4000.00 plus the ridiculous dealer added $10,000.00 markup. I ordered a new 2014 red Corvette Stingray from the same dealer, we were sitting in his office and he said the car ordered was $62,580.00 and there would be no dealer added markup (no discount either) because I ordered the car, but stated if the car just came in and was added to his inventory there would be a $25,000.00 markup, I almost, well you know what I almost did. If people would refuse to pay the dealer markup they would stop doing it, but people just have to be the first to have the car and are willing to waste good money, in a year or two they will be selling the cars below window, it always happens. Happened with my Super Bee, my Prowler and a Shelby a couple years ago. I can remember a few years back the dealers were adding a markup on P T Cruisers, doesn't have to be expensive cars just anything new and in short supply. Once there are a plethora of them the thinking changes dramatically.

I'd have loved to have seen mine come off the truck. I wanted to order a 2010 SS and had I done so I would have demanded I be there the day it arrived. But that wasn't in the cards, worked out though, pretty happy with my car.

I have video of mine coming off the truck. I new it arrived at the yard that day so I went to my buddies barber shop which was about 2 miles away from the dealership. Got my hair cut and left. Made a turn by the dealership and saw the truck pulling up. My car was on the back so I stopped and waited. As soon as it was back off, I was allowed to get in with the salesman and drive it around. Only had 2 miles on it. A memory I will never forget.

Last time I bought a car like that, it lasted me 11 trouble-free years. Nothing to worry about, and it happens all the time.

Not this one. It sat in the snow and ice. I paid close attention to the tires. Not a single crack. They didn't move the car 1 time.

My local dealer just sold their 2012 ZL1. And no ZL1 13s or 14s on the lot, but they do have 4 camaro 14s. They've had three Stingrays come in so far, but those were sold before they even got off the carrier. Seems like their inventory is pretty much up to date now which is really good with winter setting in.

There is a 2013 ZL1 sitting at our dealership by our house and it has been there since we moved in (jan 2, 2013).
