You know, I'm not sure. I used Kimmel & Silverman at the time, which is a local firm. The 800MYLEMON is something I hear advertised on the radio nowadays (in Philly), but I didn't call them (although it sounds like the same group). Give them a buzz, or look for a local Lemon Law guy in Alabama. The first thing is, you don't pay them. If they want money, find a lawyer that will do it on a win only basis. Worse comes to worse, you can settle for a $ amount (that they get half of) & put in that supercharger, or you get a new car from GM.

observed L99 tune with pcmforless, Brian Herter, today: 304 HP / 300 TK, with tune 327 HP / 342 TK was tuned to keep smooth shifts in D and firm in M.

This is becoming a pattern... around 300-306hp and 300 or less TK. Give her a tune.. and boom, 325-335hp and 340+ TK.

no, the s-10 was probly well over 500hp at the crank, when you start talking about small diameter high stall converters you can easily loose more than 25% hp throught the converter/trans, but the vehicle will still be faster than a stock converter that may only see 15% loss(the engine was built to the same specs as the car craft L92 6.0L build that made 550 hp on the engine dyno)

hey irpq11 -

I haven't read thru this entire long thread...and maybe you've already figured this out......but I noticed something on your dynolicious graph that you posted on another thread...notice in the 1st run that the 0-60 time is 7sec...but also notice that acceleration doesn't start until 1 second...which means this was really a 6sec run

On the 2nd run though...look at the flat acceleration at time 0...then the spike at like 6sec....that doesn't seem right

I was there as well and saw the 42rwtq gain with my own eyes, like I said yesterday a very nice gain for a basically stock car with a K&N drop in and tune.

Car was very nice

DYNO Sheets from L99 Tune

I'm attaching the dyno sheets from the L99 tune last night. I don't have the air/fuel up on them as the dynojet one was not working, so I had to log with my portable unit. The stock air/fuel was right on 11 to 1 and the finish tune was 13 to 1

The car really is detuned from the factory a large amount. The HP gain is one thing, but the huge Torque gain is the reason why I feel people are feeling these cars are slow.

A lil O.T.
Question to you or any other tuner in this thread ,
L99 have VVT (verable valve timing?) , can you change the advance/retard on the cam with any of the reflash programs , and how much does it help out HP/TQ ??

Ya, I noticed both of those. It leads me to believe that the Dynolicious app isn't real acurate or it just gets confused. Here is an example. My latest run. I did the whole quarter mile. The info looks good except for the final speed. I think the top speed is acurate but reads below the 'final speed'

Obviously I wasn't doing 121 mph but I WAS doing 105 mph by looking at the gauge when the beeper went off telling me that it was 1/4 mile.

I wonder if the cars that were given for testing were 'tuned up' so the numbers would look good. Most of the tests were doen with the M6 anyway.

+1
It would be nice to look at the "tune" on the low 13's l99's and compare to your's and Scott's !

look at the graphs from above, livernois and the three from irpq11 for stock torque, first two are 300 ft/lb at 3000 rpm 1rpq11 not till 4000 rpm (at 3500@ 40?), am I missing something? or is this just how the dyno recorded?

most every car comes rich from the factory, but adding in the easy break-in's that people are doing is keeping the pcm from leaning itself out. not to mention, every LS series motor doesnt really come into its own until about 5-10,000 miles.

Are they supposed to? But they are.
its safer to run rich than lean. auto manufacturers tune the car to run richer than needed on a stock tune to err on the safe side.

They still aren't ready for me.

honestly, I would never have used that thing for a real 1/4mile test/recording device. this weekend you need to drive to the track, let the car cool down for a little while you grab lunch, and then go take it down the quarter mile (maybe even try it with the "other" wheels you have too. )
