I guess you are immune to sales tax on a new car somehow? Let me know, heck it could have saved me $2500.
Using your numbers of $24,772 with 7% sales tax and $300 for tax,tag & licence, total cost would be $26,806.40. Subtract you trade/downpayment ($1500) and you are at $25,306 or $412/month. So how is your dealer qouting you $385???? But feel free to order the 2LT... just dont be suprised if you payments are right at $500/month.

I played around with the 1LT and then after looking and seeing the extras you got with the 2LT, I ended up getting leather (heated) seats, gauge pkg, & heated mirrors for approximately $500.00 more. I had originally 1LT w/upgrade radio, conv. pkg. and I was able to make the change to the 2LT/RS before the car got picked up. I plan to keep this car for a while so the decision wasn’t hard.

Can you finance the sales tax by rolling it into your loan amount? This is my first new car purchase, and I figured I was going to have to pay the sales tax out of pocket when my Camaro comes in. |

YES..... Typically your down payment is subtracted from the total after tax, tag, & title ..... Then you finance the ballance

I don't have ur financial concerns - but I bought the 1LT. Here is my rationale: With the 1Lt I can get a sunroof and the connection convience package which gives me the gadgets like a 2LT. So what did I loose out on but not going for the 2LT - leather seats and heated mirrors. I had leather seats in my G35 coupe - and I'm kinda like blah.. towards them.. I hate the cringe marks they leave after usage. I will miss the heated mirrors - but I could not justify paying the extra premium of $3K (i believe) to go up to a 2LT for heated mirrors.. Just my two cents. |

It was either a 1SS or a 2LT for me. I had a $25k budget along with a $5k trade. 10-15 years ago, with the same money, I would have been all over the V-8. Today, the leather and the rest is more my style.
Get what you can afford. No sense over extending and not being able go out for dinner and other things. It's still a Camaro no matter what trim level. You can always upgrade your car as money becomes more available or trade for what you can afford down the line. |

You can always change out the wheels to make it your own. Upgrade the sound system via your dealer or a local shop. Compare all the standard equipment for each model, it's still a Camaro. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/wiki.p...nt+and+options |

Wait and save for the 2LT after all that is what you really want to begin with.

i think i am just going to wait and save for the 2LT. who knows, by the time i get the money saved maybe there will be incentives... or something i can PEP, or who knows what. now i'm stressing out about how much to save. LOL. this sucks! i was completely ready to order my car and now i'm back to square one. i keep plugging numbers in to a car payment calculator online to figure out exactly how much i need to have as a down payment. it's not looking good for me... i won't be able to order it this year :( i'm thinking about getting a part time job though and just putting ALL of that money in to my camaro fund until i can order it. i would be stressed working two jobs, but i think the pay off would be so worth it to have my dream car!
