If not, wth did you pay all that money for technology and durability that you're not going to use?

I may or may not mod the car beyond it's stock HP rating. Not sure yet. But this will apply:

I am running My 75 RWHP Tune package and I feel it is right where it needs to be.

It's Fun, it does rolling burnouts, it runs Mid 11s with ease, it's fast as Hell on the road coarse, still beyond my ability, and it gets 19 mpg highway

I have a Drag only 1973 Camaro RS that I am sure most of you have seen it runs 9.2 144 with a small block and a stick shift and believe me it is a lot of fun but also a lot of work to be able to use it with loading and unloading, trailering and such.

As I get Older I like to get in and turn the key and Drive the hell out of it without all the work.

By far the Best Damn Car I have Ever Owned or Driven and I get to drive everything.

Ted.
Exactly the reason I agree with all of your posts and why I will be ordering parts from you very soon, again. I drive mine (not daily) regularly, drag race it and will do road course days next year. I want more power to run consistent mid 11s and still have 100% street ability and not be to much power that it wants to spin out on the road course when you throttle down out of a turn.
Look for a PM from me soon!

....good question! Because it does everything and anything any Camaro diehard owner could have ever wanted. Ever. Comfort, reliability, warranty, light year speed performance, handling, you name it, across all fronts. It's the brass ring of Camaro's in a culmination of a lifetime of Chevy engineering and design on steroids. This car is all that and some. Oldscool is my name, not by fancy, but but experience. I tried to wrench, toil, and struggle as a young man to make 'em fly, and keep 'em flyin'. I did it back in the day. Been there, done that and bought the t-shirt. This car blows my mind each and every time I drive it. If I don't drive it often I loose my skills to stay on top of it. And I don't drive it often. If I had the cabs I would track it, but I'm a working stiff struggling like everbody else to keep it going. So I don't have the scratch to burn up stuff. Let me end by saying it's better than any Six Flags ride.

At what point do you say enough is enough? Where does it stop? I have always said that when I'm afraid of my car...like the first time I tried running my SS at the track on street tires after being decently modded. Sideways action at almost 100 mph is fun to talk about, but only after you knees have stopped shaking. lol.
I am craving power is excess with the ZL1, I want to be scared.

It stops when you find the Balance that works for you.

Everyone has different Goals, My goal is to put 100K on my ZL-1, Drive it, Drag Race it, Road Race it, I think I have a good balanced car at this point for ME.

I paid for it and I am not going to save it for the next guy to enjoy by keeping it in a garage under a cover until I lose interest and take 25-50 cents on the dollar.

Been there done that with my Trans Am, had 50K in it sold it for 26K with 14K miles that is almost 2 dollars a mile and that does not include fuel, insurance, heated storage, and maintenance.

If you do more Drag racing but want to continue to drive it back and forth to the track and Not have to add a roll bar you may have to stop at 11.5 ET.

If you want to add a roll bar but stop before a cage window net fire suite and NHRA competition licence you will have to stop at 10.0 ET.

Just a couple examples.

Resisting the urge to molest this car has been an exercise in restraint. I want to keep my warranty. Though my car has gone into the 11s already, it's just not exciting. Every stock GT500 I've seen at the track has come dangerously close to hitting the wall. That's the kind of power I'm looking for.
I'm very happy with the horspower on mine. But I'm not a track junkie, nor do I drag race.

But if I did any of those things, I'd own a different car, like a Porsche.

I consider my car to be a "personal luxury vehicle" that as part of the luxury has enough power to deal with 98% of what ever is out there if I had to (which I never do!). That's part of the "luxury". The weight and suspension of the Camaro are also part of the luxury due to ride comfort and stability. But it's too heavy to be a real performance car.

That should be fairly easy we just have to spin your blower faster for the altitude.

Ted.

You're not taking it to the right kind of track...

It sounds like you're looking for unbridled power...but that isn't part of the ZL1's DNA....fwiw - I can say that I very rarely used all of my ZL1's potential on the street...only on a road course. A drag strip is....well, imho...boring from the outset. So, to answer your question - yes, I was truly happy with the power it made.
