I guess it isan't the track pack, I was misinforumed. It is the Performance Exhaust Upgrade Package GMPP#92231570 (for offroad use only) Not legal in some states I guess.

Am I going overboard? Probably.
Changed oil at 1400. Crystal clear. Replaced Air and oil filter with K&N. Put in Castrol Edge Syn. Felt like it made a difference.

New shoe syndrome, doing things that improve always feels good! I have 3 changes under the belt @ 1500 mi. and while no increase in power I still look under the car every morning for oil spots, none so far...

Ummm..... I would think this isn't exactly true. The LS3 & L99 come from the manufacture with Mobil 1, I'd venture to say they know what the deal is.

I have a difficult time believing that there is any difference in the performance after changing the oil. To do so would mean there was an excessive amount of friction from the oil not providing protection as the parts do not actually touch each other in the engine, they are separated by a layer of oil. There is increased friction and particulates during the break in period as the engine mates the parts to each other. As the oil is circulated through the engine, the filter captures the particulates.
I also do not believe that oils such as Mobil 1 would provide such a low level of friction that break in would not occur.
Once the rings mate to the cylinder walls and the compression increases, as well as the the other engine surfaces, I do accept a performance increase, but not from a oil change.
I guess we have to have someone dyno before and after their first oil change, ideally, the same day.

thats what recomended from the factory to use all the time, as it shows it on your cap. But there a bunch of other brangs GM recommends as well, I will find the list.

Oil changes never hurt. But a lot of this might have to deal with car being broke in.

check that link out thats all the synthetic oil GM approves.

As far as mobil its good stuff that i plan on using. But as far it being on the oil cap i have a feeling thats a marketing stunt.

Maybe the ECU changed settings after the oil life indicator is reset for the 1st time? Very possible.
