you just over streched your belt. like they say its a one time use and it comes with a tool so that you dont over strech it. its your car you can do what you want with it i just dont see why they would make a tool if it wasnt needed

What that tool does is it holds the belt in place on the pulley as you turn it. That's all I did with my fiingers. The AC works fine with no squeel from the belt. It was a new belt and no tool came with it.

I just pulled mine off...walked it off easily but I am in the middle of a cam change so I had plenty of room

The A/C belt can be removed and reinstalled in 10 minutes or less with no lift or special tools.
To remove the belt use a ratchet and rotate the crank while pushing the belt toward the back of the balancer. The belt will walk off the balancer is less than 2 crank rotations.

To install the belt, first wrap the belt around the A/C compressor pulley. Then pull the belt around the Back Side of the balancer as far as it will go. Then start to rotate the crank and walk the belt into the groove.

Easy as Pie.
