Yes- to be expected and the "service stabiltrack" is s'posed to come on briefly each time you start your car (to let you know the warning light is working).

If it's saying "service stabilitrak" in the DIC, then no, it's not normal. Try disconnecting the battery, or give it a few days to see if it resets itself.

Ive never disconnected the battery during a throttle body install, nor have I ever gotten a CEL.

That's including unplugging the MAF and the throttle body during the install.

This and yes.

There have been times where folks install a TB while there is still reminant power on the car and it will give the ECM a fit.

If the key is in the car in the on or accessory position, it will almost always cause a light such as "Service Stabilitrak" or "Reduced Power." I've seen and heard it done a dozen times.

It's kinda like trying to change your shoe in the middle of a marathon....

Everything should be in the "off" position on the car. You don't need to take any cables or fuses out or anything like that but just try to be logical about installing any part on a car in as don't allow for any variables/factors to influence any outcome.

Yes, you can try to disconnect the positive battery cable, pull fuse 5 and 20, and let it sit overnight. But if it doesn't go away then you have 2 options.

Have the dealer look at it and have them use the Tech 2 to perform a Throttle Idle Reset on the Car (it will cost you an hours labor) or you have to reinstall your old one.

There have been 2 instances in the last 4300 or so Throttle Bodies that we've done where we actually received a electronically bad ported throttle body. And there would be no way to know this until after it was installed. Normally in this case, the car would immediately would go into RP and just not run or start at all however.

Remember that most all of these that customers get are re manufactured units or ones that were recycled from another customer before.

And those who return their old cores aren't always the most honest folks. There are times we've found instances where a customer returns a known bad one that they've picked up off ebay.

Just a thought and you can always call or PM me if anybody ever needs any technical help with any of the VMax Throttle Bodies.

Ok well I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes and the CEL went away. Either way, thanks for the info!

Absolutely. There are times we have new throttle bodies in the mix as well. I usually try to post that up in the marketplace forums as I know that having new units for folks can make the difference.

But heck yeah we've done that before. Just shoot me a PM and we'll hook you right up sir.

I would NOT recommend buying a ported TB IF (and only if) you have the manifold spacer and the plenum spacer already

I had both spacers on, which mostly reduced the dead spot already, and then added the ported TB. I literally didnt notice anything at all with the TB and I ALWAYS notice anything that changes with my car. Im not the only one who has said this, so dont go yellin at me! lol

Im full bolt on and the TB was the last to go on. Just sayin

what did you guys think after you put it on?

Would this still be the same experience if one's car is still stock? Meaning stock headers and exhaust with the exception of a CAI induction? Or would you have to have those aftermarket part to experience what the TB fully have to offer?
