My first trip was 18 hours, from the dealership in Michigan to home in Tampa Bay, Florida. I was a little worried about getting uncomfortable being in the car 8 hours a day but it was great. The SS was very quiet and comfortable on the highway. Spent the first 1,000 miles cruising between 1300 and 2000 rpms, car rides the best just over 2k...

we have been very behaved for this 1500 miles. we've always ran the rpms in a variation.

we picked her up in Michigan and drove her home to Wisconsin 375 miles. very comfy.

I went from the boise area to lake tahoe about 450 miles. So fun to drive! It caused 2 traffic slow downs for pix! We've tried to keep the RPMs under 4K but the car has the oopsie factorN I've been over a few times. Only 400 miles left 'til I can drive it like it's meant to be!

Made a trip to Ruidoso, New Mexico-- Round trip back to San Antonio was about
a little over 1400 miles-- While we traveled thru the mountains I put the Tap and Shift
to good use-- Barely had to use the brakes coming down the mountains--The Camaro
handle just Great--In West Texas the speed limit is 80mph and the Camaro was just cruising at that speed--I once, maybe twice found myself easily doing over 100mph within seconds of accelerating-- This car really loves the highway--
Before we left for the trip I had the oil and filter changed ( Mobil1 )with about 900 miles on the Camaro--During the trip I would almost swear that the preformance of the car got better as we drove -- Better acceleration and better gas mileage -- The best I
got on gas mileage was 25.7 and thats with about 2300 miles on the car-- I was pleased to see that the more I drove it the better gas mileage I was getting--
I can't say enough about this car only that GM and the guys in Canada really
came thru for us--
We're looking forward to our next trip ( So. Cal ) AJ & Bern

We took Number 3 from Michigan to California and back over Christmas. We also took Fbodfathers car, Thor to Florida at Easter.

And HeatherR already posted on her trip to Florida over Christmas as well.

All 3 of those trips are well documented in threads in want to re read them.

HeatherRs thread from her trip to Florida is HUGE. It was very popular way back at Christmas time.

Ahhhhhh the memories.

This weekend I took a 4 hour one way trip back to my hometown. I was sooooo impressed on how great my SS ran!! The ride was really smooth and comfortable. Me being 6,1, I could stretch my left leg all the way out and relax. Several times I found myself doing 80 or 90 and not even noticing it. I got several thumbs up and one cell phone picture taken. This car is such a head turner. My wife asked me why everyone seemd to be staring at her. I was like they are not looking at you (sorry dear), they are checking out the car! I was getting an average of 21 mpg! That is not bad seeing how fast I was driving thru some towns. In all I am very pleased with the Camaro and wouldnt trade it for the world! Now if I can just get the bug guts off the front this evening........

It really does feel like it gets faster and breaks in, doesn't it!

Ok. My long road trip.
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30516
We bought the car from Tom Henry and immediately got on the road from Bakerstown to Carlisle....195 miles (for the 3 day car show)
Carlisle back to Bakerstown 195 miles (to drop off the wife at the airport in Pitt)
1,500 miles back to San Antonio from Pittsburgh. If you follow that link, you'll find some of the info on the drive.

So, yeah...about 1,900 miles in it's first week. 1,700 of those miles in two days...and it was the GREATEST, most COMFORTABLE road trip I've ever taken...and I've taken a few....from Oregon to Texas, TX to LA and back several times, TX to Chicago and back, numerous trips to Baton Rouge and back. This trip was by far the most comfortable. LOVED the ride and feel. Again, check out the thread for all the info!
