I have no CEL with headers....

Hi guys, i have a 2011 1ss ls3 camaro with a vararam intake, diablosport predator and full exhaust. A few months back I installed stainless power LT headers and high flow cats to my existing flowmaster AT catback system. After about 120 miles I got the dreaded CEL. After that i plugged in my predator and tweaked my LTFT to get it in that -2 to 0 safe zone. After tuning of course the CEL went off and I waited for it to come back on. Well ive got 3,000 + miles on this setup without changing a thing and I have no CEL.

Im not sure why there isnt a light do u guys have any ideas? I plan on buying a tune from Jannetty soon but i was just curious. This thing runs like a champ and i cant wait to add some more horsies!

Many guys say the same thing that they haven't gotten a CEL, but, eventually you will until you have the rear O2 disabled in the tune. The JRE email tune will do just that and no more worries!

3k isn't all that much. Just because your not getting a cel doesn't mean you aren't running lean or rich. With your setup and no tune your not running optimally regardless of cel or no cel

Still though running headers without a tune isn't dangerous or harmful to your engine or so I was lead to believe so. CEL would be just from the rear O2 sensors.

I know tuning the LTFT to that safe zone isnt optimal but its all i can swing for now. I just thought it was strange

I am pretty sure your car should be ok its the luck of the draw really, my CEL went of after like 10 miles or so after my header install.

Just keep an eye on the spark plugs if you're gonna keep running like that.

Headers isn't going to change your AFR so you don't need to worry about running rich or lean.

When I installed my headers I went about 3 months before my cel turned on. Just get the car tuned and enjoy more HP and no more cel hassle.

It can cause more issues that one that's tuned appropriately.
