What happened to the subaru?

Don't know...couldn't see that far back in my rear view mirrors. I think he eventually caught up some time after I got off at my exit...

This might've been discussed countless times but I Don't think I can go thru 300+ pages of info... I have JBA High Flow Midpipes w/cats on my LS3 plus a catback Magnaflow exhaust w/ x-pipe. But my buddy with a 5.0 Stang always upstages me on the sound of his exhaust and all he has is an axleback. Would the sound of my exhaust dramatically increase if I deleted the cats? I searched YouTube and it seems like people have muffler deletes confused with straight piping. Or it could just be stupid me. That Is for the help!

The first thing you need to understand is that LS motors will never have that "distinct" Ford V8 sound. As much as I love my Camaro, the mustang exhaust sound is a pretty nice one. If you deleted the cats, the only thing that would happen is :

1. Your exhaust will be more raspy

2. Your exhaust tone will be louder

Mustangs do have a unique sound... I'll give you that. I'll never have that distinct Ford V8 sound... I'll concede that too. LTs, no cats, and the JBA 3" though... Ford can keep their wimpy exhaust note.

BTW cslee.. we would never expect anyone to read through the 300 pages of garbage here! The idea is anyone can ask whatever they want in here.

I no longer get jealous of the Ford mustang V8 exhaust note. Details below :

LS motor with a cam + exhaust no resonators or mufflers > Ford mustang with bolt ons and exhaust.

Stock for stock yea they sound a lil nicer.

With Lt's and a corsa catback the tables will turn. Then when you cam it shiiiiiiiiiat there's just no comparison!

Of the 300 pages about 297 of them are garbage

cslee you will never get a LS to sound like a muffstain, but headers a cam and no cats will sound great.

Purely for demonstration purposes, not endorsed.

Of course you drag racers do not wear a helmet quite as long as those of us that track our cars but I imagine you sweat in them all the same. I mean c'mon, burnout plus your 13ish seconds run is nowhere near the 20+ minutes we are in the car but I bet you could still use a headsock. Plus they are fireproof so there is always that. /snark

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

We don't have their sound...but they don't have our torque. Which one is more important? And besides, our cars still sound pretty damn good with exhaust and headers.

Which headers are best? Which cai is best? Whats better between the SS and V6? Whats better between the manual and stick shift?

I think out of the box the standard SS exhaust is kind of weak. The NPP is glorious though. The NPP with LT's from what I hear is sick (I'll find out soon enough) an SS with a good cat back is nice as hell too add LT's and it will be sick. All in all add the right exhaust and other mods and the sound will be there.

The Mustang sounds good but it always has the disadvantage IMHO... I mean shit it IS a Ford... lol
