I don't know, but my 95 Z-28 automatic would get up to 27 mpg on the highway (if you didn't mind the loud Magnaflow exhaust on long interstate trips!)

Think current Mustang numbers but several MPG better.

Well assuming on multiple sources the v6 model will most likely use the 3.6L DI found in the cadillac cts, can we assume it will be similar to that?

No. Expect somewhat similar but not exact numbers. Just be patient guys, you'll know soon enough.

Well from concept to production in this time frame wont change much so we can realisticlly see 30 MPG highway, which is amazing for a muscle car. CamaroKidz28 is there an article stating the cylinder cut off?

Those were not tested numbers for the LS2 in the Camaro concept, they were projected numbers. Like I said, be patient we'll all know soon enough.

The concept was also a discontinued engine that topped out at 30 MPH...not a good comparison at all.

Just know this; the 5thgen will be THE most fuel efficient muscle car EVER, not to mention probably the best handling too. Also, the initial engines won't be the last word in performance without penalty, there's plenty more in fuel efficient powertrain tech going into the 5thgen.

The DI V6 in the CTS delievers 17/26 with an auto-tranny. In the Camaro...think a couple hundred pounds less wieght, and they'll be showing off the manual-transmission numbers in ads most likely. So...~19/27(28)?

The V8 is anyone's guess, frankly - and I haven't a clue what to expect except something that's "class leading." Just know that the 30mpg on the concept was a optimistic estimate from GM (not the EPA), and was stated while still under old-EPA fuel economy ratings. The new rating procedure has dropped ratings anywhere from 2-3mpg. So if the concept came out today, they would have been saying 27mpg...but that's still optimistic.

Like Scotsman keeps saying - Don't worry! You're looking at the right pony car if fuel economy is one of your concerns.
