My mistake 1 LE's at J L Sullivan - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I dropped by my local Dealer for a fluid service JL Sullivan Roseville CA and was surprised to see what I thought were 3 each 14 1 LE's in stock. What I discovered is they were SS's made up to look the same, minus the suspension, and rear gears. Interesting sales angle.

Black hood, wheel package, and Recaro seats. As far as I could tell only the go fast parts were not there. I dont have a 1 LE so I don't know all of the package details for interior and such. Had me fooled I had to go and look at the sticker. Salesman also verified that none of them were 1 LE's. No where on the car, or window sticker was any 1 LE identity, badge or anything. I'm kicking myself for not snapping a few pictures.

1LEs dont have any badges and on the window sicker i think its called the performance pkg.

DId they have red brakes? My dealer dId the same thing but pAinted the hood and had standatd brakes.

Yes red brake calipers.
No performance package on the window sticker.
Informed by salesman they were not 1 LE's. He walked up when I went to check them out. Told him I had a ZL1 in for service so he knew he had nothing to gain by trying to fool me.

In any case they looked pretty cool, that's for sure. If I was in the market for one and stumbled upon these, I would imagine that I'd just get one and have the rest installed to make it the real deal. For others who don't want to go to the track just leave it as is.

Yeah I know. I had two weeks of work paperwork to catch up on, and the new C7 on the floor to check out. If anyone really wants some pics I can swing by Tuesday as I will be working in the area.

If the window sticker states "SS performance package", then it's a 1LE. I went to their website and they had a Red Hot listed with the SS performance package and the pictures showed it in the showroom. Is that one of the cars you are talking about? Do you remember what the MSRP was listed on those cars?

I guess I was steered wrong by sales. Online window sticker shows 1LE for all three.

Yep it's my bad. I was intercepted on the way to look, and I told him I was surprised that they had 3 1 LE's. He told me they were not, so I didn't look at the window sticker close enough.

So even when the dealers have them in stock they don't know what the 1LE is... too funny. Talk about the elusive Camaro 1LE!
