When are we going to see some aftermarket Gears
What is the latest on aftermarker gears for the Camaro. This car needs gears bad

You could always put some smaller diameter tires on there, too small will look kind of funny though.

They are talking about the gearing of the rear end. I think most people will be happy to get a set of 3.73 gears which is a pretty good road gear and will also make the Camaro faster at takeoff. The higher the gearing the faster it will take off but if you go to high like 5.14 or even 4.88 it will really take off when you step on the gas but it will limit the car on how fast you go on the top end.

Right now, the camaro comes with 3.54 gears, which means that for every 3.54 revolutions that the crankshaft turns, the wheels turn once. (or I may have that reversed).
People who gear for drag strips like to run 3.93 gears of 4.10 gears because it aids in acceleration instead of top end. The 3.54 gears are geared towards freeway cruising to get better gas mileage. |
