I sent my sales guy an email last week requesting my #. Haven't heard back. I figure either he was on vacation, or he's already tired of me asking.

I heard that I was #16, but maybe it depends on the interpretation of the number. My salesman told me that they will have 12 orders accepted in August, which would move me to #4 on the wait list.

You may actually be ahead of me. It really depends on when our orders were entered into the workbench system.

You should definitely have an order number by now. They should at least provide that to you. My salesman has been as specific as I think he can be about my order. We're both frustrated with the process. I can't wait until its all over and I drive off the lot. Think I may take him out for a beer!

Next time I am buying a much-less-demanded car!

Guys....Realistic waiting time for delivery is about 4 months ( 16 weeks) and that is if your Dealership has enough allocations. Over here at Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine we are delivering an average of 25 units x month, and no, we do not charge a "speed pass".

BTW, the 6 digit ordering number should be provided within 2 business days after placing the order

About allocation, I found that out after the fact. Classic has more than twice the allocation of Reliable it seems, but I've bought from Reliable before, they're close to home and work, their service on my Tahoe has been excellent, and I was referred to a specific salesman by a coworker here. She gets some referral $$. I just have to wait a little while longer than I probably would have with Classic.

Are you saying 4 months from GM acceptance (2000) to delivery (6000) or just overall wait?

I wish I had read the forums more before ordering. I was told 8 weeks on June 13th and I still haven't been given the 6 digit order number. Hopefully the order will go in soon.

Red Raider: don't let the fact that Classic has twice the allocations fool you. I ordered in March, I'm still at 1100. That's just how the system works, and yes, it sucks.

Unless you can find a dealer that truly has an open allocation, you're going to wait. Most likely a very, very long time.

I ordered from Reliable 3 June and am now at 2500...and saved $750 of MSRP by using USAA discount. I don't think that's too bad!
