Anyone running JL 10w7 with JL hd750/1 amp?

I am considering going with this setup and ******** stealth box in my convertible. Does anyone have this same setup now and how does it sound?

Also any recommendations for different 10 inch sub that would be better than the 10w7, Im all ears.

10w7 is an extremely high quality subwoofer. I personally wish I could afford two or even one lol.

I am big jl fan I have been run and jl in my cars for the last 10 years and I also sold and installed many system over the last 15 years. The 10 w7 is one of the big bad subs that you can buy the problem is the box. ******** box are what we call prefab box they are made one way to fit a lot of different subs. The big problem that I see with the jl w7 in aprefab box is that the Pressure in side the box is so high the one of the sides blows out and gives a nasty sound sub and the every time the bass hits the wood Slaps together And give you a nasty rattle. If you spending this type of money and a sub and amp set up Strongly think about a custom box or step Down to the 10w6 sub is still a high output sub and grate sound Q

Agreed. I had two boxes blow up on me, but I'm running a single 12w3

So the 10w7 will actually break the box? Is it that much of a difference in bass between the w6 and w7?

Yes it is. Also the w7 front plate calls for a 1inc thick front board most perfab are 3 1/4. The w6 is designed on the w7 platform close to the same out put less air space

I am running a JL10W7 with 750w amp... One issues I notice is a terrible rattle that comes from the front of the truck... Only way I can stop it is to place my hand (weight) to the front of the truck.

If you end up dropping the head liner let me know. I need some pics of the passenger front side of the other side of the liner.

What do you mean by dropping the headliner? Like just getting rid of it?

My sunroof has been having some bad rattle in it, and ever since the sub install, it's been getting unbearable. So I plan on dynamatting it. I'm on a road trip at the moment but once I get back on wednesday that's probably what I'll do.

Well since you paid someone to install all of your equipment... i'm sure you won't remove the headliner yourself, but what he means is remove the headliner, put dynamat on the sheet metal roof and replace the headliner, but then again, tell the person you're going to be paying to do it.
