The problem with this poll and thread in general is that many people participating in the poll and and posting on the thread do not understand the context surrounding the poll. To be honest, I did not completely understand it when I first read it. I have gone back and read every post on this thread and it appears that the first people posting on this thread understood the context and then it got lost along the way. Here is the crux of the issue in case others care to read a random post by me...lol.
The "fast list" of official quarter mile records has 3 categories for ZL1 Camaros. They are: 9) ZL1 Bone Stock 10) ZL1 Camaro, Bolt-Ons without Internal Engine Modification 11) ZL1 Camaro, Internal Engine Mods plus Bolt-Ons The real question is, if a car installs a ported supercharger snout, which of the above 3 classes should it be considered in? Now, I will agree with many of the random posters that porting anything does not sound like it has anything to do with bolts. But does anyone really think a car with a ported snout, or blower, or throttle body should be class 11? Maybe I should start another poll. Maybe we do need 8 classes in the ZL1 fast list. Maybe we need to change the wording of the existing classes. Maybe we need to put a little more info on the poll question. I don't know..... I'm just trying to clarify all the mud around here...lol.

And to further clarify...this thread was not intended to "discredit" anyone...even though black and white words here may seem to threaten certain individuals. The initial question was "Is a 102mm throttle body with ported snout a 'bolt on' if it can't be bolted to a stock snout?" I never cried foul or said a 1/4 mile time was invalid. Please respect responses from persons that do not immediately defame and condescend .

In the end the categories are vague at best and open to interpretation...until someone specifically defines them.

Those are such incredibly broad categories for something like that.

You can get a custom cam made within factory spec limits that produces more power than an off the shelf OEM cam then balance the assembly to the lightest weight allowed per factory specs & have an impressive "stock" engine.

Unless your just breaking it every time you run as i remember you posting that it blew up when you got it back from your tuner, which just seems like poor attention to detail on someones behalf. I am willing to bet with the right tires etc...my silly little vert could pull a 10.9 pass on the right day, or at least thats what i have been told my a couple of the shop's that have had it...

so in my mind you either allow porting or don't these parts do bolt on external to the motor and can be ported so game on.
