I have absolutely no sympathy for drunk drivers. The driver of that Camaro should have died also like those that she killed by her drunken antics.

Yep they have them with cameras as well. Its connected to the ignition as well as the starter. It can detect tampering with as well.

Also, drunk driving is on the decline. But you'll always have those that do it. If they wanted to eliminate drinking and driving, theyd install it in every vehicle. But if theyre going to do tat, then they need to build cars with a device that cancels cell phone signals as well, because texting and driving is one of the major causes of accidents these days.

Drinking and driving has wayyy too many downfalls. There's no pisitives from it. Losing a life, killing others or wrecking you car which Im sure everyone enjoys and paying an enormous amount of money when caught is not my idea of fun.

The driver survived but considering it listed the two fatalities as her sisters I'm pretty sure the passengers didn't

This just sucks . I am just glad my son was not on that highway then , Maybe these new drivers should all have to watch a 2 hour video of these wrecks and all the aftermath that occurs from DUI , Alcohol is the worst !

No, sorry. I'm not for rules that punish the people that didn't commit a crime.

Not having cars would also save tons of lives, should we ban cars and just walk?

It's just amazing to me that at this day and age people still drive drunk.I dont have a social life all i do is work so i can play Mario Andretti a few times a year. When im sitting hear at home having some beers, a couple times i have wanted to go get a pizza.I wouldn't even get in a car if Ive had two beers.Im not drunk, but the chance of getting pulled over and the expense of your legal bills to follow,no thanks. This chic is an idiot, and now we get to support, and feed her stupid ass, while she's in prison, wish she was the only person that died, now those poor family's are being put through hell cause of her.

big ass violation of civil rights and invasion of privacy right there..

convicted of DUI, then you lose those rights, just like any other felony.

but like Frank said, there is no reason to create laws to punish everyone because of the idiocy of a few.

__

unfortunately this is like someone picking up a gun and killing someone for no reason, should we ban all guns because it "could" happen?

__

driving under the influence and killing someone should carry as stiff a penalty as premeditated murder.. Because in essence isn't that what it is?

vehicular manslaughter is s joke, the premise is that it is the death as a result of an accident, well an accident by definition is avoidable, driving while intoxicated is avoidable because if you don't do it, you just avoided it didn't you?

therefore a DUI that causes the death of innocent people is avoidable, same as electing NOT to pick up a gun and shoot someone.. so electing to drive while intoxicated is not an accident, it is an intentional deliberate act, just like shooting someone, therefore it should be punished the same as premeditated murder: by life in prison, or capitol punishment (i'm for the later)

__

unfortunately stricter laws and punishments don't really work, someone will always pick up that gun / drive the car.

__

as I stated earlier in this thread, a wrong way on a highway driver is avoidable, tire puncture plates on off ramps, so you CAN'T get on the freeway going the wrong way, with a camera connection directly to the PD and an immediate alert that someone has attempted to enter the highway going the wrong direction..

The vehicle is disabled and the police know instantly, if they can do it at intersections to catch red light runners, they can do it on off ramps.

but the Driving under the influence, well that may never change, people are gonna do what people are gonna do.. You can educate them until they are blue, but whether or not they chose to listen and use common sense is an entirely different matter.

I'm the same way. Don't go out much cause I can't turn down a beer and almost always have to drive due to no designated driver. Not trying to spend thousands on legal stuff that could go towards car parts!!

two dead in the Camaro

The impact killed two people in the Explorer -- Gregorio Mejia-Martinez, 47, and Ester Delgado -- and two passengers in Culbreath's car -- her sister, Maya Louise Culbreath, 24, of Rialto, and Kristin Melissa Young, 24, of Chino.
