I need some education - torque converter question. When they say a torque converter is custom made - do they truly tailor it to each combination or is a 245mm triple disk 3600 the same whether it goes into a 572 big block or a stock displacement ls3? I understand it will probably flash higher in the big block but is it physically the exact same thing?

It is tailored around power and vehicle weight, usage etc.

Does anyone have a preference or opinion on which oil filter to use for road course duty? I'm all stock internals and use Mobil1 oil. I'm currently using a Mobil1 oil filter but was wondering if there is a better choice for extended high rpm duty.

Havent researched a ton on filters, but I did read enough people saying that Mobil 1 filters are good. I bought the highest grade filter they offer. As for oil, I did do a lot of research, and looked at actual tests between a lot of the performance oils, and they included Mobil 1. Mobil 1 didnt do so great, at all. I use Amsoil now. Did great in all the tests, lots of pro shops recommend it, they have multiple formulas depending on what you do with the car. It is expensive at first, but is guaranteed for 13k or 15k miles, something obnoxious like that, so you get more life out of it. This is just one set of tests, done to a few diff oils, but it gives you an idea. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=328887 |

Thanks for the info! Looks like Amsoil is a good one for sure! I don't want this to get into a long debate about oil again though! I PM'd Jordan to ask about his recommendations. I think the PF48R is probably a higher flowing filter for track use. I'll see what he says!

Hello v8 help desk! I was just wondering if there are any disadvantages to installing a 2.5 in. Borla ATAK axleback to my already installed 3 in. catback piping?

I have been using the m206 for years Mike, more volume and never had any issues.
