Anyone have JRE 460 cam?

Looking for a cam (for my LS3) that's easier on the valvetrain yet has an idle that says this car has a cam. Not really worried about HP numbers but do want power that's usable on the street. Gains in the upper rpm range won't get used the way my car is usually driven; I'm not constantly winding it out. Open to other cam ideas also. Thanks!

PCMofNC '545' cam

GPI SS1

Those are my two picks for you. Decent gains with no change in driveability.

Lethal Racing does good work. You should also check them out.

Plus one for lethal. If your going to install the cam do it and get something you will enjoy. Otherwise get long tubes and full exhaust and you can hear almost a cam like chop.

Pcm 545 would also be a great choice, or get with tick performance if you are close to them

I guess I should have mentioned I already have long tubes and exhaust. Just looking for some more power and the sound that comes with it (and mainly I just want a project to do while I'm waiting for all this snow to melt).

I've been listening to sound clips and reading about all of the suggestions so far. Thanks for the help.

Lethal nitefury
Martin@ tick has a few stages
Brian Tooley racing also has some new Ls3 cams in stages as well

Drive ability is going to be based on how big you go your rearend gearing and the skills and experience of the tuner you choose.

If it was up to me, I wouldn't get the small cam. Believe me after spending all that money to install it your gonna wish you'd gone bigger.
Go with a 23x/24x cam from any of those vendors and get a good tuner. They all should drive just fine.

It's funny that you typed this. I was thinking the exact same thing as I posted the original question but I figured I would try to find out what else is out there and posted it anyway. I was looking at the Night Fury and the JRE 470 and came across the JRE 460 which I haven't really heard anyone running. There really is no real reason for me to go with a smaller cam. It's just a weekend summer toy and I'm really doing it because I'm ready for a spring project to hold me over until I can get her out when the snow and salt clears. Thanks for confirming what I was already thinking.

I agree with the above statement. If your going to do the install yourself or pay for it even. You might as well do it whole heatedly and get it all done at once. Otherwise you will kick yourself later!

Give us a call. If you are not too far from us we can get you a good deal on a custom cam installed and tuned.
