If I'm remembering right only two wires go to the airbag light. Red and black.

It's March 2014 now. I did the V1 install using an Invisicord today and encountered two small problems. Apparently they changed something in the 2014 mirror and I couldn't find a switched hot wire, so I will have to turn the detector on and off manually. And secondly, with all the piggybacked wires in the bundle now, the black plastic cover wouldn't snap back into place - I used a small ziptie over the wireloom and under the cover to hold it in place (you can't see it behind the mirror anyways).

But yeah, the Invisicord is a clean and simple way to power a V1 using the rearview mirror. I got the 8" length and it restricts my mounting options, definately go for the 12". For anyone trying to find which wire is hot, I just used a test light and pierced the wires until it lit - red wire right next to the black wire in the row where all the slots are full. The micro tipped Invisicord ends slipped right in by hand with gentle force.

Same issue here, have to Manually On/Off the detector... anyone have any luck finding a ignition controlled power source ?

Blu Ray - the rear view mirror changed in 2013, unless there is something new on the 2014 mirror, there is no switchable 12v power in the new mirror. If you want the RD to turn on and off with the car you have 2 choices. run power from the fuse box, or get power from the dome light.

Here is a link to my trials and testing on my 2013.

hope this helps...

It's weird too, because I can clearly see the On-Star lights on the mirror
powering on and off with the ignition...why no switched power on the
2014? Maybe there is a secondary non-hot wire that tells the On-Star to
power down??? Anyways, not the end of the world, we just have to get in
the habit of switching it ON and OFF as necessary.

You can connect the wires to the Air Bag lights

Red and Black
Switched connection, nice, clean, close, EZ install.

I tried the airbag light route and after an hour gave up, just too hard and complex. I tried the mirror route, found the wires in two minutes, tested them for switch op and then went in the house. When the stuff gets here tomorrow I foresee an easy install. Im doing the RD and dash cam.
