What I see is a car that lives up to the reputation of 5 star crash ratings all the way around. The pieces designed to crumple did what they were supposed to and the supports and cabin components stayed intact.

I'm glad no one was hurt. A bus at 40 mph contains a hell of a lot of kinetic energy. I'm curious to hear what happens next to your car though. Good luck!

Yeah no doubt. Even the guy that owns the shop was impressed on how well it took the hit.

Glad you and the others involved are ok.

However I need to tell the real story here:

The bus driver was talking with her one passenger and all of a sudden her passenger, bored listening to the same stories she tells day in and day out said " look at that awesome yellow Camaro, I bet it makes you feel like a fool driving this little yellow bus". At that moment (when she said she looked down) she actually saw red and in a fit of jealous rage was going to run you over, but at the last second snapped out of it and swerved but it was to late.

Thats the thing with accidents, you never get the real story.

So the day finally arrived... after 30 days in the shop I got the car back today. Norris Collision in Goddard, KS did an amazing job on the car. I changed a couple things up while it was in the shop too. I put on a ZL1 spoiler, SS diffuser, left the rear bowtie off, and had a set of trunk drain covers painted. Now I just need this winter to go away so I can put my summer wheels on and get the full look of the car.

I also looked into the diminished value assessment like some told me I should. According to the assessment I got it has almost a $6900 loss in value due to this accident. We will see how this part of it plays out next.

Here are the pictures of what I am calling "post-bus". Pardon the cell phone pics for now.

That was kind of my reaction on the diminished value. Since it will have a $11,300 repair on it the fair market value went down. My only worry is that if someday I sell it or trade it in I want to make sure if it is worth less it isnt me taking the full hit on it.
