OK a BIG THANK YOU! to all of you who have answered while I was in the panic mode!! I am now running. I know my husband will probably see this so now I have to get home and fess up. I will tell him how you all helped me and maybe that will help. Thanks again to all of you who helped!

How would you get in the trunk of a convertible if the key doesnt come out of the ignition??

You don't.
assuming you meant while the battery is dead?

open the hood, hook up jumper cables, then push the trunk open button.

Just wanted to thank all of you who helped while my wife was freakin out earlier. She came in and told me right away what happened and the help she got from the good guys here on this forum.Again thank you all!

Now for you guys that have not had this problem before,your key will not come out of the ignition the normal way when the battery is dead. I have read the post above and she had it in park and did move the steering wheel and that did not help at all. She had a mustang GT with a standard before and she is well aware of doing all these things. Just want the ones who always ask if it is in park or turn the wheel one way or the other with these new camaros that that is not the problem if the battery is dead.
