I Want a 1le, but I have a few questions...any help is appreciated.
I have fallen in love with a summit white Camaro SS 1le. I want one bad....but...
1. My wife and I are expecting our first kid, a boy in the middle to end of April. 2. I have a Harley Davidson Street Glide I just bought in November (paid in full). 3. There aren't a lot of Summit White 1le's in the greater Chicago are....Michigan is the closest. So my options are: 1. See if the dealer I'm working with can get it on trade from Michigan. 2. Order one to my specs and wait 6-8 weeks. I have $20,000-$25,000 to put down. I'm leaning towards ordering one, then that gives me 2 months to figure things out financially. I want it with everything except the sunroof, recaros and navigation. Which puts me at about $41,500. With $25,000 down that makes a 5 year loan about $350. I wanted to be at $300 if I keep the Harley. If I sold the Harley, I could buy it free and clear. Help me pick my path.... |

Not sure how much you know about the 1LE, but factor in a second set of wheels and tires into your budget unless you plan on parking it for 6 months out of the year. Those Goodyear F1 Supercar G2s lose almost all grip below 40 degrees fahrenheit and can crack if left in less than 20 degree temps.
Other than that, go for it. I'm picking up my Summit White 1LE in two weeks time (ordered it back in mid Feb) |

Welcome my friend, Choice is easy! Car guy or Bike guy? Can you take your brand new son on the Harley? Can you take your family on the Harley? No questions here, sell the bike , title of car in hand! , next summer when you have the need of air in your hair go get a bike! Sorry, I'm not a bike guy! My best friends have them ,and they are cool! But nothing like two tires behind me scoopin asphalt with a wheel in my hand, and holdin on for dear life! |

Order one just how you like it if you can't find one first. I ordered mine then one month later found out we were pregnant , luckily we got a big dog one year earlier so we already have an SUV. Our boy is 9 days old now, first one for us as well...good luck, one word of advice we learned on our own, cover him when changing his diaper, they shoot far.

Order it, so that you get EXACTLY what you want! It is worth the wait in the long run.

OP I would put less down and hang on to some of that cash. You are going to need it papa.
You, also as pointed out, will need a different set of tires to drive year round where you live. Depending on your credit you can buy the car at a very low interest rate. Then if things get tight sell the Harley. But that is not easy year round where you live. Also keep in mind Harleys have not been holding their value so well lately. If you get the 1LE, I would say order it exactly like you want. There is something about ordering and waiting that bonds you with the car.

I see you are local. Contact BlackDog Speed Shop in Lincolnshire IL. I think they are selling a summit white 1le that is brand new because they want to buy something else.

Consider shopping the internet for the best deal in the country. I found the best deal in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I live in East Texas. So I bought a plane ticket for just over $200 and flew to Oklahoma! Picked it up at the dealership there and had a nice ride home.
I got a 2S/S 1L/E with every option I'm aware of (even floor mats and a trunk liner) for $41,995. Mine is summit white and I love it! And I agree about budgeting for a new set of tires. Mine is a daily driver and I don't really like the Goodyear's for that service. I'll be getting a set of Michelins soon. |

Mine would not be a daily driver....I have a 2010 Acura TSX and wifey has a 2013 MDX. I just put the pipes and intake on the bike today and was on it. It was awesome, but I keep thinking about the Camaro. I'd love to have both, but I really need the payment to be under $350

I would buy it with as close to $0 down as possible since loans are so cheap right now. Mine is under 2% on my 1le and silverado
