I have a Seibon CF hood on mine, and there is maybe only a 5lb savings to be gained from it vs the stock. Primarily got it for air flow.

First off, what does he have done to his Mustang? Because if his Coyote is stock, then all you need to do at this point is be a good driver and you'll win easily. The Coyotes are not as fast as everyone makes them out to be. Stock to stock they have a small advantage but it still can be a driver's race. If I were you, I would not be worried unless he has nitrous or forced induction.

I smoked a GT 5.0 last week, I wouldn't worry to much. 9 times out of 10 an auto will take a manual. But if weight is what you wanna shed, +1 on what the others have said.

do you have a stall converter?.....we know you have bolt ons....and that should have required a tune to make your car shift faster, so let it do its job.......... then if you do not beat him just install a cam someday he cannot afford and call him out...... lol

no stall Christain... and I'd love to slap the CAM in... but the $$$ is it really worth it? perhaps put that $$$ to a SC kit instead... @blaqwhole - he has no power adders, still NA... but bolt ons as well. two things I'm concerned about: 1. he's M6 and 2. his weight vs my weight. we'll both be running DR 325/45s. can't decide if I should paddle shift, or just "D" and punch it...

If you're both running bolt ons it's going to come down to the launch and the driver.

I agree with Issh, its basically a driver's race. But you'll have the advantage because it is easier to launch an automatic than a manual...especially since you have 325 DRs out back. If you're running those tires then I have to assume that you're pretty good at launching. And I'd say use the paddles. Just make sure you don't hit the rev limiter like I seem to do all the time. I think you're gonna beat him as it is. The Coyotes are not as fast as people on here seem to think they are. With those 3.91s, the auto, and those DRs (and the other mods helping her breathe), I think you're gonna take him off the line and thats gonna be it.

NEITHER. Hit the traction control button twice, then put it in "S". After that, it's all you.

I'd like to think this as well blaqwhole... M6s like to over-rev their launch, they break loose and I have him. on DRs my A6 hooks! on 295/35 street tires it breaks loose.

our Alb National Drag Raceway is opening up now... I'll be curious what the SS runs myself... she's never been down the track yet.

my best ET was in my old stang 10.20 @ 126mph 1.59 60' on slicks

Here's a quick video of the KOTS - that happens in my back yard:

the guy starting the races is the one who's called me out - he doesn't race in any of these.

That track is at a high elevation right, 5300 DA?

Stock wheels and exhaust are the best ways to drop weight.
