Anyway, I absolutely understand not rolling in money and having to budget, but I also firmly believe in a comfortable cushion between "what I intend to spend" and "most I can absolutely afford". So if you're just squeaking by being able to afford the Camaro, what happens if gas prices go up more than anticipated, or you run into a bit of costly maintenance?
no, that's not the case at all.. "just squeaking by" i just mean that i don't have 200 dollars that i can just spend on tinting my windows. i would have to save say 50 a week until i had the money saved then go do it. so it might take a month but i could do it. and i figured it would be like 500 dollars or more. i know very little about that stuff. i've never added anything extra on to my car so i didn't realize that it was actually pretty cheap. really my problem is that i spend all my money on clothes LOL! if i would quit doing that i could have paid for the camaro with cash by now! HA!

By law Indiana tinting is 35%. However, I have my Black RS/SS tinted 15% all the way around, to include an eye brow. It looks great, and I don't feel as exposed. The total cost was $ 220. Plus, it's kind of hard to enforce a law when the police cars are tinted with 10 or 5%.

Ever order a burger and when you drive up and open it, it looks NOTHING like the picture? Or get a juice that says "Real Fruit Juice * ", and when you read the * it tells you that the real fruit was just used to take the picture on the front label?

Welcome to America's BS Marketing, where anything is possible. At least everything else about that Camaro sounds awesome. Tint does set it off though.

OH MY GOSH! this thread was NOT made for you all to tell me what i can or can not afford. it was to talk about how annoyed i was that the website shows the vehicles with tinted windows when it's not even an option. but a big thanks to everyone who gave their two cents on what i should be able to afford just because i'm getting a new car. not sure where i said was paying cash for the car. my car payment will be BARELY different than it is now... so yeah, i can afford the car but doesn't mean i have all this extra cash laying around to buy other stuff.

sorry for the rant just then but seriously... what does FINANCING a new car (that will cost me only 20 dollars more a month) have to do with paying cash for extras?

Which model are you getting? The v8 models actually do require premium if you dont want knocking.

If you can't afford to pay the $200 for a metallic tint job after buying the Camaro, then have your dealer do it for you before you pick up the car and add it to the cost that is financed.

Perfect answer ..... Some of you guys bashing him about not having the money to tint are just wrong. You have no idea his life situation, and maybe having the car just makes his budget but NO extras. Some folks have to decide food or play, and his decision was adult in nature .....
