I have the Solo high flow cats and they are great. No tune or cel's. I have the Range AFM delete device that plugs into the OBDII port and does not void warranty. It eliminates any transitional noise or hesitation between the 4 to 8 mode. No tune required. Less than $200 and it can be pulled out anytime. I notice about 1 mile per gallon less with it in on long drives. As for the cats, they can quickly be removed for the stock cats for warranty or emission issues.

$675 for the L99 cats. The JBA's are more than $100 less, but, you have to buy rear o2 extenders and they do not have the reputation that the Solo's have. I do not have shorties at this time. Apex has JBA ceramic coated shorties for $625. If you don't plan on tuning now I would just get the cats and start there.

If you are going to tune the Shorties and high flows are good for about 30rwhp.

What about the cats? As an FYI it is illegal to remove factory cats and either simply not install any at all, or to install a non-approved for the vehicle cat

I don;t care how illegal your car is, just giving you a heads' up

Well I planned on just going BBK Shorty headers for now and saving for the cats/LTs later when I pass smog lol. So this way I'll have a set for smog and a set for street. I know the shortys don't provide much but it's something at this point. Yeah the hi flows are cool but worries about when smog is due

Actually I changed my mind. I am going with JBA high flow cats/mid pipes and leaving the stock headers since they flow so well and designed really well. Now will I need to Dino or get a tune after that? I have the super hips 91 octane tune so I hope not lol. Trying to find a set by ,onday

True.
I kept my factory cats, so if I had to r&r them for warranty or smog issues I could do it in 1-1/2 hours. The CAI is illegal in California. There is not a CARB legal CAI, but, it is a 30 minute job to r&r for the aforementioned reasons.

If you still have your pt warranty and want to keep it then you do not need to tune. If you don't care about the warranty a dyno tune and tranny tune would make a significant improvement. I am guessing you are running a good CAI already.

I do not believe the BBK are CARB legal. Go with a CARB legal shorty so you never have to R&R it. Although, I don't know if headers void the PT warranty.
It would be much more time to r&r the headers for the stock manifolds.

Yes I have a Vararam Intake and Power Wedge, yes they are Legal here I found a ton of threads on that. Looks like I'm just going with BBK shorty that are CARB/EO stamped. It's only $319 and easy to slap on. Then eibach spring, powder coat my rims, and limo the windows and I'm done. Body kit way down the road when I save another $1500 lol

So I'm running just that magnaflow Tru X Pipe and straight pipes after that and it seems fine no loss of mpg or anything and it's still not loud at all surprisingly

I would like to see where the Vararam Intake and the BBK shorties have a CARB EQ # for the LS3/L99 from a reputable website. Also, the cheaper BBK shorties are not ceramic coated. I wouldn't want that for our high heat engine compartments.

I was thinking of doing a tru x pipe., already did the muffler delete and it's not loud enough.
From your post I'm getting it still wouldn't be loud enough with the x pipe.
