I have the ZL1 panels, added the second LED, and it made no difference at all. As soon as the plastic carbon flash metallic panels where inserted back into their door frame panels, the light was still too dim. The weird part is, when I compared these ZL1 panels to my grey SS ones, there was no difference that I could tell, on how far up the paint overspray line ended at under the ABL tube. My theory is that the ice blue lighting in conjuction with the SS grey panels, simply allowed the light to reflect back more efficiently, vs say the red led and black panels that I elected to go with.

I took off the tape that resided near the edge of the inner panel that meets the dash line, and sanded it down to match the rest of the panel, then added the 2 LED's on each end of the ABL tube. I even tested it in the car....all seemed fine. I then re-installed the ZL1 inner panel in the main door frame panels, screwed everything back up nice n tight, and tested it again on the car. Then it was too dim . It's the door main panel over lap on the inner panels, and THAT super dark black paint. Now I must redo everything again and hit the drawing board again.

Time to buy a dremel tool tomorrow. I'm going to perform this surgery without taking off the inner panels again. I'lll sand the bugger down a few mm, then add strips or a long strip of black electrical tape to finish off the "line" if need be. I hope I'm not missing something here with my theory as to why it's too dim.

I'll let you know how it turns out. The plot thickens here.

I made mine works by sanding the edge along the tape " the one you took off "

I used 200 grit and it worked perfectly.

Yes, but that tape was only the last 3-4 inches near the edge of the panel, as it curves in to meet the dash.

What did you do for the whole rest of the panel "where there was no tape at all" to make the abl light brighter through the panel?

I sanded under the tape and followed the same alignment as if there was a tape along the total length
But be careful. I used a black electric tape for masking.
Did u see the link posted from the Facebook page?

I see, thank you for that explanation, I'll give this a try.

No I didn't look at the Facebook page, because I refuse to do Facebook.....I'll borrow someone else's account and take a look later on .

Unless you have a pic you can post here?
