WE JUST CAME BACK THREE HOURS AGO FROM IRWINDALE SPEED WAY IN LA CA.

MY BUD HAS A 2010 2SS RS WITH AUTO TRANS.

FIRST OFF LET ME TELL YOUS GM MESS UP WITH THIS TRANNY WAY TOO MANY OPTIONS TO PUT THIS DAMN THING IN DRIVE.

WE RAN IT WITH TRACKTION CONTROLL ON USING M & D BEST TIME WAS 9.5 1/8 MILE.

THEN WE RAN IT AGAIN WITH COMP MODE ON USING M & D BEST TIME WAS 9.25 1/8 MILE.

THEN WE RAN IT AGAIN WITH THE TRACKTION CONTROLL OFF AND WE JUST KEPT SPINING AND SPINING WE RAN 10.6 I SWEAR I KNOW THAT SOUNDS CRAZY FOR 1/8 MILE BUT WE SPUN TOO MUCH.

after all this testing we found out that if you hold the button down for 5 second you can drive it in comp mode as well as the tracktion controll off so instead of choosing one you can drive it with both modes.

CAN SOMBODY TELL ME WHAT GM WAS THINKING DOING THIS !

GM wants the engine to outlast the warranty. However it also needs to get good MPG rating to avoid the gas guzzler tax.. However the advertised 0-60 time was the same for both the manual and the auto (slight edge supposedly to the auto) while the manual was quicker in the top end because of the greater horsepower. I guess many people are getting good times, but IRPQ, Scott, and a few others in this forum are not getting those times. Hence "the slows". But they are being looked at by GM and hopefully the problem gets fixed under warranty soon..

With just a few modifications the L99 will come alive......

It really needs to be tuned to get the lag out of it on the bottom end.....

Lag, that's a good word.

I went from saying "I can't get my tires to spin", to saying "I'm having traction problems" over night with a tune.
I now literally roast my tires all the way through 1st gear, if I just mash the gas from a dead stop.

Now I'm worried about how I'm going to get this car to hook up at the track.

What did you have done on your tune? I'm trying to find out what most are doing because I'm having it done soon once I get my exhaust and OTR intake. Did you have it tuned so the tranny hits like it has a shift kit? What else?

Jeremy Formato of www.fasterproms.net tuned my car. And yes, from a dead stop it will literally roast the tires big time.

Yesterday I almost got in trouble testing this out. There's a vacant area near my house where they've put in some paved roads but they haven't started building yet. So its just a few empty streets out in the middle of a giant field (no houses, no construction, nothing). I actually shoot off rockets in the field sometimes.

Well after a couple practice launches (tons of wheel spin), I looked over my shoulder and out of no where a cop car starts coming towards my area. There's no cars, houses, or people for miles and here rolls up a cop car (go figure). So I slowly drove out of the area. The cop car got right behind me
(20ft behind me) and followed me out of the area. Lucky for me, he eventually went straight when I made a left turn.

Yes, my tranny feels like there's a shift kit on it. It even holds each gear in a good rpm for performance when I'm slowing down (like you would do driving a stick). He put a pretty aggressive tune in the transmission.
You could call Jeremy Formato at www.fastertunes.net and find out exactly what he did.
The shifts are firm, fast, and crisp. No more mushy, soft, slow shifts.

I believe he was refering to the M6 cars that were put on hold until GM investigated the busted tailshaft. They have been given the go-ahead.

Allow me to say that as an owner of a 'good' L99 (no, really, I've timed it several times now)...it is every bit as pleasurable.

0-60 in 4.6 seconds was epic fun.

That said, I'd love to get this thing tuned. Just want to keep the warranty for at least a while until things are well sorted.
