If you dont want to buy the fark kit, you're going to have to splice your factory wiring.

So I would buy the amp, the subwoofer(s) and box, plus the wiring kit. Then I would hook the amp up to the stock amp? I'm confused...

No. I think you need to do a little reading on what you're trying to do. You'd need the sub you want, the box for the sub, the amp to power that sub then the wiring to power the amp as well as the wiring to connect the amp to the sub. You'd get power from the battery. No need to connect it to the stock amp

I suggest you read more of these forums. Not to be so abrasive, but you have already said you are new to this, right? You have come to the right place to get the right answers/advice, but it seems you already had your mind made up on what you want to do. This forum has been around for years and these guys know what they are talking about. With that being said, don't waste your money on the ebay stuff, you will be disappointed. Continue reading the forums so you have a clear understanding, while saving your coin to get quality merchandise. The FARK is without question the best way to go. After reading forums, you still don't gain an understanding, then maybe you should consult a audio shop.

I had the same goals as you a few years ago to just try to get a small sound upgrade with a sub for cheap. After doing all the research, I realized (to do it right), its gonna be more costly than I had hoped. I got lucky constantly watching the marketplace on here and got everything I needed for $300. A "12 sub already mounted in a side enclosure with an amp mounted on an amp rack and all plug and play connectors. So keep watching the marketplace if you wanna save money.
If not, you'll need this side enclosure for a 10" sub: http://********.com/product_info.php...&products_id=8 You can try and mount an amp for the sub onto the same enclosure or get this to mount it on the other side: http://********.com/product_info.php...roducts_id=246 You don't need the entire FARK harness because you don't need to replace the factory amp. You'll need this to connect the sub amp with your factory wiring though: http://********.com/product_info.php?products_id=204 After all that, you'll still need a 10" sun and amp to run it. Pretty expensive. |

I'm not that against it to be honest its just the extra cost for something I may be able to do myself.

What city are you in? Im sure there is someone on this forum that may be near you that may be willing to lend a helping hand to get you fixed up. I just don't want you to get in over your head, waste a bunch of money, then regret it in the end.
