Keeping Mine!!! but thanks for the offer...lol. I'm sure a threatening letter will follow, when they see we have not done this.

"GM can have my key fob when they pry it out of my cold dead hands" hmmm! seems to fit here

Not down to bring my car in. Also don't want a new key.
Specially after all the things I've done to it that aren't factory..
So I don't think I'm going to partake in this recall.

KEEPING MINE. With all these ignition switch failures and junk, you'd think that GM would get a clue and just go all key-less. It's more convenient that way, anyways.

That takes time to engineer and integrate into all the systems. It will more than likely make it into the 6th gen. Don't expect it before then.

I actually hit my knee on the ignition before and it caused my car to turn off and lose braking power. Although, it was because I was quickly switching from gas pedal to brake. I blame it on the cop I had seen. Funny seeing it as a recall now, I remember being like wtf why did my car turn off and only figured my knee bumped it to accessory position. I still like my flip key though..

Just for kicks, to test it out, I tried to turn the car off while driving and it worked! I didn't even think that was possible. I figured all ignition switches were designed to make that impossible. Fortunately, it was as simple as turning the car back on while rolling, putting it in the right gear, and driving. If they're truly so worried, they should just design new switches and swap those out.

What did you hit to turn it off?

Guys grow up, we all like our keys but if it is a safety issue for all cars on the road, imagine driving 60 mph in the highway and the car shut off and an accident happens!!! people could possibly die because.....you like your keys too much/personally I will go head and change it for my safety and others. Thanks

I didn't hit anything actually. I intentionally turned the car off just like I would while parked, only I was moving. I did it safely on an empty road. But I really always thought it was impossible to do.

Guys grow up!!!!!!!

I was reading the recall thread and 99% said they will keep their keys. We all like our keys but if it is a safety issue and could affect our family and everyone driving on roads, imagine driving 60 mph in the highway with your kids and the car shut off and an accident happens just because you like your flip key too much....Personally I won't take that risk and its proven it might happen

I think most drivers need to "grow up".
How did we ever live back in the 60's and 70's? I used to ride around in the back window shelf waving to cops.......
If you can't control a vehicle when something happens, blow out, engine dies, something breaks in the suspension, then maybe you should ride the bus. Accidents happen. Quit passing the buck.
Not directing this at you personally, but just the general public.
