The Shelby is pretty much out of the equation, with less than 300 new cars left at dealers, the remaining ones could see the mark-ups again until the new GT350 arrives.

If it does come with a fully forged motor, coupled to the 8-speed auto, it will be at a premium price.
The SRT already has a forged crank so its just adding forged pistons. The 8-speed is not special to the hellcat. It comes with all Challengers, Chargers, 300's, Jeep GC's, Rams, etc.

Now dealer markups, yeah that will probably happen

Challengers have a button on the key fob that activates dumps on the exhaust for 2015

SRT's are already out of production, they stopped May 30th. R/Ts and SXT's are produced until July 4th this year.

So if you want to order an SRT, it has to be a model year 15 and it wont be manufactured until 3rd quarter. If you have to have one now you have to get a dealer stock.

Pricing will be interesting and a big factor. A fully loaded SRT is (Nav, sunroof, kicker sound system) is @ $51,000. The hellcat only comes fully loaded. It uses the same block, heads, transmission, driveshaft, etc. so add in supercharger, different hood, different calipers and rear diff and it wont net more than a 10K-15k premium IMHO. I could be wrong of course.

If an SRT hood is say $500.00 to produce and the Hellcat hood is say $900 to produce, it only adds a net $400, not a net $900. Same credits will be taken with the factory parts that are upgraded.

Guess we will have to see. It's all speculation at this point.
The fact that there will still be a 392 SRT model in addition to the Hellcat model tells me that it will be pretty expensive. IDK about $75k but I would imagine all Challenger models will go up in price. They are all getting more features that didn't come on the 2014.

Really to bad this conversation is about 1/4 mile. When Dodge can bring a car to the road course and win. Sorry not magazine win, actual GT or GTS win then maybe someone will care.

Very very nice!!!

Let see line lock for Ford

Dumps for Dodge

Will Chevrolet have both Dump and Lock... we will see...

Damn I love these companies... Because we all win in the end... Great products...

Now if only Dodge could keep up in sales with Ford and Chevy.

I'm glad that the Challenger is not everywhere like the Mustang and Camaro, I have one of about 60 made in Canada, like having that rare number. In the Toronto area I do see more Challengers than the Camaro though, Mustang is everywhere and I had them not a fan.

The 8-speed that is currently in the V6 Chargers, 300s, RAMs and Jeeps (and will be in the '15 Challenger V6) is the 8HP45 (331 lb-ft limit). The 8-speed that will come with the '15 392 Hemi and 5.7L Hemi is the 8HP70 (516 lb-ft limit). And the 8-speed in the Hellcat is the ZF 8HP-90 (663 lb-ft limit).

So, yes - the 8HP90 is special and only offered with the Hellcat engine.

I had the Mustang and found that they were in the shop more than any other car that I have had, they were fun to drive but I need a car with a back seat Mustang has none and new Camaro is just to tight for someone 6-0' 250lbs.

I would hope so because it only makes sense ! I see the same here but ofcourse challengers and 5th Gen Camaro's are the unique ones that are Retro! The mustang had it's shine back when the 05. retro mustangs came out! Even though I don't think your comparison is a good one! Because you're limiting the mustang years !

It's crazy that you're saying that because since Dodge been doing their no obligation, if you don't like the car for a week you can take it back thing! I've been seeing more challengers than Camaros and mustangs! I mean they're all over now! I'm more likely to see a challenger than a Camaro! Most of the challengers I see have after market Rims on them! Too! Most Camaros I see don't have after market rims! Well , really I can't remember the last time that I've seen a Camaro with custom rims! I love seeing the 5th Gens Camaros and Challengers on the street! They're one of a kind huge and muscle looking! I like seeing the 13-14 mustangs too! But not as much!

I think all sizes up to 24's ,if done right looks nice! I have 22's on mine! But I just brought up the after market rims on challengers because it's very rare that I see them on a 5th Gen around here! I understand though because the Camaros look great. with the stock rims! Especially, with the blacked out trend going on!
