I too have tried to "knee" my key fob while driving (in a parking lot to test) and it is literally impossible for me to do so. My leg hits the steering wheel before the knee can even get close enough to the fob to hit it.

I think if I bring my seat up to a very uncomfortable position and angle my leg a certain way, I might be able to hit it. But the way my seat is adjusted, I couldn't hit the key fob with my knee if you paid me to. FYI I am 5 ft 10 inches tall.

Yeah I do not want to be forced into the recall or the recall to be done without my consent.

I like my key. I am no where near the key when driving. I have plenty of room.

Hell, those are under some sub heading I've never even been to on the site.
And that last one was posted right under this one after I posted mine. Are people I. There bitching that they started another thread?

Why are there so damn many sub forums? That's why there are 30 differnt threads on each subject, no one can find them all

I hate to admit it, especially since I don't want to change keys, but, it is possible to shut off the car with your knee. You might have to be 6'5" with most of your height in your legs, like me, but it happened. I wasn't driving at the time, I was parked. I still don't want the new key though.

Based on the original post it sounds like we keep our same fob, only they rip the key out. So I guess we'll have fobs with gaping holes on one side.

Either way, I'm keeping my keys as-is. I've got 6 free oil changes with my dealer that I will forfeit if I have to. And hopefully I won't need any other service performed.

Note:

As far as I can tell, there is no "recall" or "fix".

It will appear on GMSi when there is, and it ain't there.

There has been a corporate news release about it, but at this point, it's just a news story.

It's real. They have stopped sales and deliveries of new and used Camaros until June 23.

anybody know anything about when this can be fixed? my car is stuck in the showroom until they fix it. they said they can't even move it to do rustproofing. they said they will do the tints in the showroom because they aren't even allowed to drive it...
for this minor issue its frustrating...hopefully i will be entitled to some compensation
