Summary: Understand what the indemnity waiver really means before you sign it.
As soon as GM shows me that all of the newer units leaving the plant come with two sets of key fobs with empty grooves ,then I might consider taking their indemnification seriously.

This part seems simple enough to me.

You get two or more blank copies of the indemnification form now, and give your buyer the choice of signing one or waiting on the recall to get done.

You should read anything you sign before you sign it, not just this.

I needed to get a similar recall on my 2003 Cobra. The gas pedal was getting stuck on the carpet at WOT. Ford's solution was a plate screwed to the floor behind the gas pedal. I took my car in for service a couple of times and they said they had to.....I forbid them to...they gave up.

As far as this recall....I literally tried to get my knee to hit it last light in the way home from a cruise night. Even if I drastically changed my position to where I was almost unable to see out of the front window...there was still no way for me to hit it. GMs solution is really cheap. If they offered a new FOB that was just supposed to be a FOB and not my old switchblade key, I'd have no problem. $44k for a car and the solution to what they think is a problem it to break my key and put in 2 cent piece of plastic.....really.?

Instead of recalling the key fobs....GM should make all scoops and side gills functional.

They call it Snail Mail for a reason! I'm still waiting on my ZL1 Certificate, more than a half dozen times now they've (GM) have said "4 to 6 weeks". Which now is well over a year and a half.

Better idea...Go to ebay, buy the blank, turn it into the Chevy dealer without the guts and have them get you a new key. You keep your old switchblade, and you make the tech wonder how in the hell you've been driving your car all these years.

That won't work because they use the origional key to program the new one.

That sounds like something i can do, but i can't find the roll pin to lock the keybalde into the fob. I was suggested to ask the dealership for one, will do that today.

Your dealer trashed the roll pin to prevent you from adding a new key to the fob....I'm sure that is required as part of the recall....

According to the law they have 60 days to send letters out after a recall is announced.
