Looks great! I'd hate to get a rock chip, door ding, or any other type of daily driving scratch on her tho :(

It's just painted on with wet sanding the middle area to give it depth

They could use a similar color for about $100 a car since they would buy the paint in bulk.(Plus save the price of the yellow that would have went on. So it's really a toss-up.) Pore the paint in the machine and paint it the special color. Whalah! Happy Customers..... But, instead we get.... It's not BumbleBee, blah, blah, blah. Give me a break....Then why not offer the package in all colors? It's simple.... GM, man up and slip a very similar color in the machine and make the car look at least similar to the way it should! By the way, Your Bumblebee (Or as Chevy would call it- Transformer Package) looks awesome.

mmmmmkay.......

So let's assume we use this other color that you refer to --it is not the same color and it does not have the color-shifting properties or the 'glow' that Sunrise has.....

........ how many people are going to complain that 'it isn't the same color' -

Answer: a lot.

And the reason is that "Sunrise" has several steps to bring out the color and show the color 'shift' .....the assembly plant paint system cannot apply that type of paint -- and frankly, I don't know of any paint system in any conventional assembly plant that can. (by conventional -- I mean automated versus 'one offs' such as Rolls and Bentley.)

I -- and I think anyone on the Camaro team would agree-- that Hiney's car looks SPECTACULAR!!!!

.......but I also think that if we were to use anything other than "sunrise" it would be a disappointment to most......thus, the "Transformers" package is offered on Rally Yellow cars.

I guess the bigger question is: Do you offer a Transformers Package (note I did not say 'Bumblebee' package...) or do you not?

It's an option.

Meaning that you can make the choice to order it or not.

It certainly isn't for everyone - -and frankly we knew that this would be something that most enthusiasts would not order -- rather, they would order the color they like most. We believe that the Transformers Package will be ordered by someone who is not a traditional enthusiast -- but rather someone who sees the Camaro and says "I don't know what it is, but I gotta have one" or "Wow! It looks like Bumblebee in the movie 'Transformers'..

As I've posted before: "Thor" now wears the Transformers Package -- and I'm here to tell you that I come out of stores and find entire families standing next to him having their pictures taken......

To each his own!

The labor would be around $5,000 per vehicle hence the cost I came up with..

If Gm could figure out a way to paint it quickly enough at factory and lower the costs, even better.. However highly unlikely unless its the same process as painting IOM and RJT which we know it is not.

........right now we're trying to build everyones' orders. Further, our paint systems are not able to paint this color - and we don't have a facility to paint cars by hand.

So......if someone wants their Camaro painted "Sunrise" -- I suggest doing exactly what this Enthusiast did - have it done locally.

Yikes 10,000 for paint/labor

This makes no sense...... GM has cars painted in tri-coat already. Why should the Camaro be any different? In fact all manufacturers do! And they don't paint tri-coats by hand!! Its all by robots! touch up work is done by a person.
