Kinda sounds like you're caught up on a status issue. Why not a ZL1? Why not a Z28?

You bought a 2SS/RS. It performs essentially the same as the 1LE in nearly all types of driving. No one is going to look at your car and say, where's the "performance suspension and wrapped black hood?"

You purchased an exceptional vehicle and you're simply thinking that everything out there is better now that you have it.

Grass is always greener on the other side and this trade-up effect isn't a new phenomenon.

People also commonly do it with cell phones and wives. It almost never makes much of a difference though...

I don't think it's a status issue at all. Your comments along with those that state "if your not going to track it you will not notice a difference" to me are way off base. We got a chance to run in the North GA mountains last week, and having lived there for almost 15 years, we could really appreciate the 1LE package. Heck, I live on the flat marshy GA coast now, and there are many tuns and on ramps / off ramps that we enjoy having the 1LE package. You can appreciate the hell out of good handling car without being on a track. And I agree with the OP. The choice of gauges, leather, and heads up VS a car that handles this much better is a no brainer. I close with to each his own. Obviously more people enjoy the gadgets, and the proof is in the number of 2SS and 2LT sales vs 1LE.

You made a mistake. You live, you learn. Now it's time to make it yours. Make it better than a 1LE

Just an update. I called my dealer, they are looking for a 1LE. Going to look at pricing etc and make a decision.

I'll say you probably should have gotten a 1LE but since you didn't that package will now cost you about $6k to acquire (cost of package plus loss of current cars value) . Put that towards a supercharger and you won't give a crap about not having a 1LE...

I'll say this, you'd be out of your mind to do it. No matter how the dealer spins it (and they have a way of making is sound so good), you are going to take a bath, 3-5K minimum

There you go, that is all you can do. Get all the facts and costs in front of you and then decide if it is worth it to you.

If you REALLY want to make yourself sick, go test drive (like I did yesterday) a new Stingray...I realized my 2010 2SS with 625 HP was "just a very fast car". Don't get me wrong, I love my Camaro(s), but that new Stingray was nothing short of amazing.

Nah I have to have a rear seat for the kiddo. I am more into muscle cars than sports cars anyways.

The 1LE is a fantastic handling car. Is it worth trading your new 2ss/rs for a 2-5k loss, NO!

I traded my 10 2ss/rs for a 14 1LE and don't regret it at all. The car does handle amazing even in daily driving scenarios. But i also did not lose money when i traded up. If you are going to lose money i would say spend that money on aftermarket suspension and other HP mods.

NICE

Sure a 1LE is good for track day, BUT

Z28 is KING.

Yep for dramatically increased costs, far better to trade in and upgrade.

how much money are you spending in upgrades???

why didn't you just put that money towards the $3500 1LE package on a 2SS and have both the upgrades and 1LE? seems like a no brainer your "months of researching" should have concluded. you can't buy those parts and have them installed for less than $3500... not even close.
