Maybe I'll try a piece of cardboard as a test concept.
Yeah, the backseat passengers get it a lot worse than the front. A company here in DFW contacted me about using my car to prototype one of these systems. They said as soon as they slow down a little on their C6 orders they would call me to come drop off the car.

I had actually ordered the GM wind screen, but I didn't buy a 4 seater to turn it into a 2 seater, so I cancelled my order.

I'd be interested in this, please keep us informed of progress. Cruising with the wife and and 2 kids is one of the reasons I bought this car.

I like this. And your Vette pic just reminded me to get to Autozone and grab some vinyl to cover the airbag warning stickers. Jeezus that looks AWFUL from the back.

I just don't feel that the wind is that bad for the front seat.....certainly re-thought it with the mid-300 dollar price tag. Something for the back seat (my kids really do use the back seat.....though I'm concerned about child abuse charges) and the wind is pretty harsh for them. Moot with this cover though, there's got to be a better solution.

Selling Brand New GM Windscreen

Received it yesterday and I don't care for how it fits with the aftermarket sport bar I have installed.
Looks great by itself (see pics in the link below). This is the GM Windscreen P/N 92219688.

Here's a link to the post in the classifieds.

Finally have it...

I have had the GM windscreen for 2-3 weeks or so now and am very happy with it. I can get up to highway speeds and it knocks down the winds substantially. I know it's not cheap, but it works well. Construction is a little more flimsy than I'd expect for $300+, but I imagine it has to be given how small it gets when it's folded up for being stowed. It flips down readily (but not unintentionally), so I can simply reach back and push it to fall down or pull it up when I want it up.

To be balanced, if the sunlight hits it from the front, it almost becomes non-transparent and you're not able to see well behind you through the rear view mirror. But, if this becomes a true issue (e.g. driving in reverse), the screen can readily be pushed down, so it's not a big problem.

Overall, very happy with the purchase.

Just bought windscreen

Came from GM parts direct in 3 days. We finally had a chance to use it this past weekend....It greatly suppressed the wind so we could have a normal conversation at 50mph without any buffeting.
I installed it myself in about 5 minutes but it is a little flimsy. I broke one of the plastic swords that fits into a grove next to the rear seatback, it's one of the four anchoring points for the screen. If anyone has a suggestion where I could get a replacement part (I don't want to replace the entire screen) It would be much appreciated.

I've got two young kids, so using the back seat is imperative. Guess I should go for this one:

But I still can't see how this connects, am I missing something?

Windrestrictor is great if you need to have the backseat available. The customization is also a great perk

I also broke one of the swords -- any luck on replacement

Hi,

I also broke one of those lil mounts. There are some alan heads on it so the corner can be repaired. Anyone know who makes this or who to proceed? Much appreciated.

Tom

PS -- i went the super crazy glue route and it failed.

Can I use the backseat with the OEM restrictor? Does it fold up as well as down?

Covers the back seat, usable for storage only.

I just got my vert last week and tonight I was reading through the window sticker and noticed that the dealer added a windscreen (to the tune of $475.00). Is the windscreen stored somewhere special? Because I can't find it in the trunk or the cabin. I just called the dealer and he didn't seem to know they even made them, but said he'd look into it and let me know. I'm going back there Thursday for a different issue, so I'd like to know if it's somewhere I don't know about before I go there. Thanks!
