WINDOW TINT what BRAND to look for with installer?

When I go to get my window tint, should I look for a particular brand of window tint that they use ie. 3M or whatever?

I have had the best luck with 3M, 20%, if it's legal in your area. Keeps the heat out and you can see out at night just fine. It's also fairly durable so if you hit it with something it won't scratch as easily as others. Get a pro to install it as the back window can be difficult. Good Luck.

Go with a newer ceramic base tint. The older metallic base will reduce your cel / GPS signals. I will be going with Formula 1 by Llumar, which has a lifetime national warranty against fade & defects. You can find thier website which list authorized dealers in your area. I had Llumar tint on my 95 T/A and it did great here in Fl. It's more $ but it will be the last tint your car will need.

Get something that reflects IR radiation (heat) as well its a little pricey, but i did it on my car, and holy cow can you tell a difference on how much cooler the car is inside than it was before the tint.

Worth the investment

Legal is all my installer will do in Fl and warranty. It's 28% on the doors and 15% on quarter and rear window ( I wanted all 15%...no biggie). The ceramic base is $225. You can probably get a low grade dark "limo tint" job for a $100 less, but in 3 years it will be purple and hazy in appearence. The older style metallic tint is in between on the cost scale. (Metallic tint should not be confused w/ mirror finish type tint, FYI.) But if you have to remove tint from your rear window it will ruin the lines on your rear defroster making it inoperative. The money you save will only cost you later. www.formulaone.com or 3M tints are all good suppliers Im sure

Thanks for the info . I want the tint to look good, protect the car, and last so I am not opposed to dishing out the cash.

That was my philosophy as well with the Camaro so I paid $400 to have Formula One Pinnacle Series (ceramic tint) installed on mine. 35% doors, 15% rear/quarter windows.
