1500 miles on it so far, reset DIC last fill up, mixed driving, 21mpg (80 hwy/20 city) L99/A6. It does noticeably worse in city driving and when I get on it (which is often at this point).

I don't get that. Its supposed to do noticeably better in city driving than a straight V8 or V8 manual. Are you jamming on the accelerator at stop lights? The theory is that you'd be running on 4 cylinders around town "most" of the time. It almost sounds like the variable cylinder switching is not working like its supposed to.

Sorry to say.. but these reports of 14-18 on the L99 in the city is pretty damn poor. My wifes big-assed SUV gets better MPG on a straight V6 than that.

What about the Auto V6s? Anyone have real-time city MPGs on those?

After last fill up;

DIC: AVG 17.1 MPG
Math: 192 miles/11.44 gallons=16.78 MPG

This was mostly city with A/C on.

I have 3,800 miles on my L99/A6 and just checked my mpg using the DIC on a 100 mile trip on I-90 in NYS. I have been noticing the mpg getting better with more miles on the car. Today I got 26.2 mpg during the run with cruise set at 70 and temp outside at 78 degrees. In town my mpg drops in a hurry. I get anywhere from 21.5 to 24 in combo driving and around 20 in the city. One thing I have noticed is that for good mileage you need to keep the car in Auto. If you use the Sport mode you really notice the reduction in mpg.

Little over 4K on mine now and the DIC shows 18.7 mpg.

I did a trip (1500 miles or so) over 4th of July and on the highway I averaged 25.7 mpg!!

about 400 miles in I'm getting a 17.7 avg with LS3 M6. Mostly short trips and having a blast going up thru' the gears......seems decent to me

700 miles now. DIC says 24.9 MPG. Driving normal, breaking it on. Man, that is good mileage for 426 HP.

I drove 150 miles ... all highway with some hills, A/C on, cruise on most of the time, my wife with me (not too much weight, lol) ... 24.9 mpg.

I have about 2,000 miles on the L99 engine.

19.8 mpg city/hwy, M6, V8, 1190 miles. Some quick accelerations, but typically easy driving for break-in to 1500 miles...probably going down after that!

I have been to my dealer several times, lastest for smoke from the oil dipstick. At that time I inquired about my gas mileage because it is way lower than given. I am getting between 11-13 mpg in a 2ss/rs m6. Dealer said this is fine.....?

I am running around 20 mpg on average. And that is with some minor Yahooing around occassionally.

My first road trip to Michigan I averaged 21.7 mpg. And that was the day after I took delivery.
