All I ask is for proof. All I read is that the HC can beat the GT500 AND the ZL1 at the drag strip. Please show me otherwise. I just want to see what I am missing and proof. Quote:

i have be looking at the vids of the hell cat and love it. but will a camaro need 700 hp to beat it. no.. imo.. that car is heavy and couldnt do 0-60 in less than 5 secs.. without a dodge engineer driving at that still only did 4.7ish.. my car can do that stock and i just have the 1le... but then that bastards whines its butt off and it still hits 11's.. cool car. but i dont think the camaro will need much more than 650hp to beat it no problem the LT4...

I don't really care who is fastest. They are all fast. I like all three of them. I almost bought the Shelby, but liked how the ZL1 drove better. I want a car that handles as well as it accelerates. Part of me would love to snap up a slightly used Shelby now. The Challenger is nice looking and obviously fast. I just wouldn't buy one based on Chrysler quality issues. It's the same reason I bought my 2013 4runner instead of a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Everyone that I know who has ever had the JGC has had nothing but problems. I hope I'm wrong. I'd love a stronger Chrysler.

What meaningful weigh reduction and drag suspension mods do you see guys doing to street driven HC? I don't see guys gutting them and putting a straight axle drag setup on their baby

Hmm, now that it seems to be okay to talk about mods without getting flamed..... When it comes to mods, there is a thing called the aftermarket that really drives a lot on the availability of modifications. Lets face it, a company has to sell a certain number of aftermarket parts for the production to be worthwhile.
I guess most people don't understand this because they don't actually mod cars themselves or something but "mods" are not universal. A hellcat with mods will not beat a ZL1 with mods. There are tons of options for ZL1's, I can literally open a catalog and find 10 different sets of headers that will fit on my ZL1 and have them sent overnight. I'm sure I could have 3 different 427 cubic inch blocks that will bolt right into my car sent by the end of the week. Sorry but you won't be able to do that with the Hellcat. If someone wants to be really fast, mod a Mustang or a Camaro, it is going to cost a little more for the Ford but the parts are out there. They really do not exist for any of the Dodge brand. If you want to go really fast, you need really deep pockets if you drive a Dodge. And even if you have deep pockets, if you race at the right venues a Mustang or Camaro with deep pockets will still blow your doors off.

It will be interesting to see the numbers start coming out from actual people racing it. I think you are right. The modded street legal ZL1s are running neck and neck in times with the GT500, let's see how far they can push the fat kitty.

What don't you get? I meant exactly what I wrote, go back and read it in reference to who I quoted. If you still don't understand, let it go.

They couldn't get a good road course time because they had to clear the parts off the track. The fat kitty was poopin'

I have beat all of those numbers pretty easy. So even if GM doesn't beat them some of the private ZL1 owners will.

BTW do you really think a Dodge will go 199? The doors will fall off, the hood will fly off, and you'll have to call AAA to be towed off the track.

That's what I'm looking for bro! A honest answer and not to be talked down to because I own a Mustang and not a Camaro any more and that I am interested in the HC. I appreciate you posting this. Thanks. Now, I have ammo to say that it isn't the fastest quarter mile car. Quote:
I traded in the Hugger Orange Camaro SS for the Mustang. I love all 3 of these cars. At one point, all I ever owned was Chevrolet. 2 Camaros, some Berrattas and a Monte Carlo SS. As for the kitty cat on the track,....I can't speak for that. I'd love to know how it does on the track against the GT500 and the ZL1. I don't know why it isn't available to see? Quote:
I am sure there are suspension mods for the Challenger. Wouldn't really need to make more power or torque. Just get it planted. Quote:
Same goes for the Ford. I currently have one a supercharged Coyote and it very inexpensive to make it faster and plant better. Boost is good. lol
