My Dodge remark was obviously tongue in cheek.

I thought so, but I have been reading too many comments by some members on these hellcat threads that write nonsense like that and actually believe it....

I do have legitimate concerns about Dodge reliability. Hopefully they've got their act together.

I been fortunate as I have owned (4) dodges since 2004 and (2) of them being SRT's that have over 100 1/4 mile passes, street beatings and honestly no issues other than general maintenance. (knock on wood.....)

I'll beat the mod Hellcats also. That is my point.

I wouldn't worry about mods on the hellcat for a couple years...Look how long it took them to break into the 392's

As far as I'm concerned, they came out with the Hellcat and 707hp basically for bragging rights, and the fact that it's faster in the 1/4 mile than the ZL1 (both in stock form), doesn't bother me in the least.
Let the Hellcat have it's day in the limelight for straight line performance. We have no idea just yet how it will perform on a road course, but then again it probably wasn't designed for a road course. My ZL1 is a fantastic car with much more going for it other than just straight line performance. My ZL1 still puts a huge grin on my face every time I start it up even after 2 years and 20,000 miles. I have no desire to buy a Hellcat even if it does come with 707hp. |
