Your goal is definitely attainable with bolt-ons. I suggest starting with a good intake system (Airaid, CAI or Roto-Fab), a VMAX TB, a good set of long tube headers and a tune.

Gears are also a great way to go faster and keep the Mustangs at bay. They'll honestly be more of an improvement than a lot of the bolt-ons. Low end and top end will both be improved.. It's just the overall gear limited top speed that will be affected.. You'll also get slightly better mileage around town, with slightly worse on the highway.

I got +43 rwhp by adding ARH w/HFC, PTB and Mike Norris tune into OE catback with NPP to a baseline that already included CAI. If you give the intake 7, then I got 50. If you examine my dyno chart in the link below, note the dramatic improvement in the torque curve between 2500-3500. From flat to ramped, right where you use it everyday.

In combination with dramatically improved throttle response and more desireable sound, I am completely satisfied.

You don't need a ported TB at all...bone stock my car dyno'd 367 RWHP. With Kooks headers and a dynomax catback and a tune...and several different cold air intakes until I found one that worked well and didn't BLATANTLY say "look at me, I'm an aftermarket air box", I dyno'd 425 RWHP on the same dyno...that's a 58 HP gain.

For what it's worth, I went with the Haltech...went through 2 Vararams (they both wrinkled near the MAF sensor, and the turbulence on the MAF sensor (seen in datalogs) was just out of control)...there's a LOT of choices for intakes with the filter behind the drivers side headlight...I thought Haltech looked simplest...and works great...MAF sensor airflow is smooth as glass with this intake too...which makes for a much better/easier tune.

Long tube headers and a tune alone can be good for a solid 30 HP...

I was able to get 62 rwhp from bolt ons and a Tune. I had headers, hfc, VMax TB, Vararam Intake, underdrive pulley, and JBA plug wires installed -- this is on an L99 A6.

Then I added 3.91 gears -- oh boy... then 1LE upgrades and BMR coolness -- my 2011 2SS is over 400 RWHP and screams with the gears and suspension...
