Op that's a really cool project but I was just curious about your reasons for swapping the engine in your current car rather than just buying a v8. Did you just want a cool project to work on or do you just like your specific car that much that you decided to do an engine swap instead. Just wondering because it seems more economical to just trade up than upgrade your current car. But cool project hope everything goes well and keep us posted.

The donor car took one hell of a hit. Seeing the trans hanging out of the bottom would instantly tell me that you're going to find damage on the parts that you want to swap.

Did the seller inspect the parts that you're interested in? It would be a shame to get the donor car home and find out that the driveline has damage beyond repair.

I don't get it neither. People swap engine all the time. Maybe it's because it's a v6 to v8 swap and on this forum any money spent on the V6 is a sin? I think that's it. Way I look at it he is hot rodding his car with a modern twist. His money and time so get over it. Many can't spend money on their SS after buy it lol.

I think this will be an interesting project to follow. Only thing I would do different is to throw a Ford Coyote 5.0 in a Camaro just to piss people off at car shows.

Good on you Austin - looking forward to watching this unfold. +1 for spending time with your Dad doing something you love. You'll never regret that.

Since you have both, switch your platforms and get the mustang running right...

Hey, my little Mustang runs right already, it does 0-60 in 53.4 seconds from the factory. I put the Vortech V3 on it, it will be down to the 40 second range.

OP, suspension wise the only difference between the V8 and V6 are the sway bays, sprints and shocks/struts. If you are going to tear everything down I would see about getting a package from BMR for suspension upgrades.

If you have a Manual then you already have the same differential as a V8. If you have an Auto then your cost just went up more. Brembo upgrade is a huge upgrade but is easy to do. Radiator will need to be upgraded as well, doesn't look like your donor car has a dent-free one.

Transmission will also need to be swapped, but that will be easy since you will have everything out anyways.

Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the time with your dad. My dad drove 1300 miles from North Carolina to Oklahoma to help me install my IPF Supercharger on my V6. First time we ever worked together on a car and I will remember it till the day I die.

I dont see how you are going to reuse that drivetrain from the donor car. Have you inspected it? All the engine/transmission mounts look to be fubared.

But I can use the differential off the ss on my car? So I should be okay there.. But I should only need front driver side brembos looks like the rest are good. And yeah, definately a radiator, and yeah all driveshafts and trans and everything. But I'm just trying to have fun and learn at the age I am. (btw.. I'm on my way to pick up the car right now. Will be picking it up from iaai in the morning.) will have pictures of the car in person in the morning, will keep y'all posted with pictures tomorrow.

Subscribed for curiosity. By the way, don't justify shit for anyone. If you want badges on your car, more power to you. Who cares if someone doesn't like this or that. I have one question after reading though. How much was the donor car? I have to know. Haha
